Meet Jackie Hollywood

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jackie Hollywood. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Jackie, thank you so much for opening up with us about some important, but sometimes personal topics. One that really matters to us is overcoming Imposter Syndrome because we’ve seen how so many people are held back in life because of this and so we’d really appreciate hearing about how you overcame Imposter Syndrome.

Imposter syndrome is one of those things I had to laugh at once I realized what it really was. My good friend Phenix Red puts it perfectly when she says imposter syndrome is BS because the second we call it a “syndrome” and give it a fancy label, we’re basically making it bigger than it needs to be. Sometimes it’s just about letting those doubtful thoughts pass through your head and then releasing them instead of clinging to them.

And then it hit me… almost everyone deals with imposter syndrome at some point. So if the most talented people feel it too, why wouldn’t I? That actually made me more okay with it and allowed me to surrender to that feeling. So what if I don’t feel like I’ve got all the skills yet? I just keep showing up, keep practicing, and keep getting better at whatever it is that I’m doing.

When I do catch myself feeling like an “imposter,” I try to look within and ask: why do I feel this way? That’s where the shadow work comes in and really being able to dig deep and not be afraid to ask yourself those questions and really go there. Meditation works wonders for me in that sense. The biggest shift was realizing comparison is the thief of joy. I might not be at someone else’s level, but if I’m even 1% better than I was yesterday, I’m winning. So now instead of beating myself up, I just keep moving and keep learning, all while enjoying the process instead of only focusing on the outcome.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I’m a multi-hyphenate creative, who has a passion for bringing joy and vulnerable conversation to the every day consumer. I started out as a Radio Personality and Producer for a Top 4 Market, and now I’m the host of Dare to Overshare, a podcast where I mix raw, real conversations with a silly, lighthearted twist. By day, I’m the Social Media Manager for a big wellness brand, and outside of that, I’m creating content and working on multiple passion projects like writing a book, making music, and so much more.

Right now I’m releasing Season 2 of Dare to Overshare (available on YouTube and anywhere you stream podcasts). I’ve always aligned with the phrase: “Jack of all trades, master of none, but oftentimes better than master of one.” I love trying new things, creating across different mediums, and connecting with people in ways that are equal parts fun, heartfelt, and just a little unhinged.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

1. Storytelling & Communication

Coming from radio and now hosting Dare to Overshare, I’ve learned that storytelling is everything. It’s not just about what you say but how you make people feel when you say it. That skill has carried me through social media strategy, podcasting, even my book writing. Don’t overthink sounding “perfect.” Focus on being authentic and practicing getting your thoughts out in a way that connects. Even making TikToks or podcast clips is great practice—your storytelling muscle grows every time you use it.

2. Adaptability / Wearing Many Hats

I call myself a jack of all trades and it’s been my superpower. I thrive by being open to new things and not boxing myself in. Try things, even if you don’t feel ready. Being adaptable isn’t about knowing how to do everything—it’s about being willing to learn as you go. Give yourself permission to be a beginner and overcome ‘imposter syndrome’.

3. Mindset & Self-Belief

Manifestation techniques and a good mindset (being optimistic) have been just as important, if not more important, as any technical skill. Every leap I’ve taken came from believing I could figure it out, even if I wasn’t an “expert” yet. Really feel what it feels like to be the version of you that you strive to be, and make choices every day that will align you to that version of yourself.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

Absolutely! Collaboration is one of my favorite parts of what I do. I’m always looking for amazing guests to join me on my podcast Dare to Overshare, and I’d love to be a guest on other shows too—it’s such a fun way to cross-promote and share new audiences.

I’m also open to partnering with brands who want to get involved as sponsors, whether that’s through creative integrations, custom segments, or unique collaborations. And honestly, if you have an idea for how we could work together—whether it’s podcast-related, content collabs, or something totally outside the box—I’m here for it. The door is wide open, and I love hearing from people who are excited to connect. If you’re reading this and thinking we could make something happen, let’s talk!
