Meet Jackie Pool

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jackie Pool a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Jackie, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

I like to say my purpose found its way to me, for the longest time I knew I wanted to make a difference in people’s lives. Growing up in high school I loved working with kids and took electives that allowed that but as I grew older I thought about the health system and how much impact I would have being a nurse. Ultimately, I didn’t do any of those things because I truly believe my calling is being a coach! After 2020 I was working as a medical assistant and decided to become a Nutrition Coach going through several transformations I wanted to submerge myself in what the body truly needs to thrive. What everyone experienced that year I no longer wanted to work in an office, people were truly sick and I felt like that chapter in my life was not serving me, or the patients, and was miserable going to work every day. I got my Nutrition coaching certification in 2022 and have been working to change people’s lives and truly make an impactful difference with the people I encounter.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

Well, I am always proud to state I’m a 3 time Boy MOM! Being a mom is the most important role, with that being said now that school is in I focus a lot more on my business and brand!

I started Happier You is a Healthier You LLC in 2022 to make things official and embrace the Entrepreneurial Mindset. Today, I work from home and am based in Kyle, TX. I help women with my 1:1 coaching who, like me once, have trouble losing weight, are always tired, need motivation and accountability, and don’t know where to start. I have a simple mapping system involving what we feed our body through physical nutrition mental nutrition and spiritual nutrition. The goal is to help as many women as possible and spread the word about what health is!

This year I have implemented a new monthly class that I do on Mondays to learn about nutrition and health, I also started group coaching for those who need more accountability more than anything!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

I think I learned to make myself a priority, for some reason in my culture being Mexican I always saw my mother getting ready last, eating last, going to sleep last, and putting my health last normal, but not favorable for anyone especially myself. So prioritizing myself, learning to plan so I don’t put my health on the back burner, and being patient. Having the patience to see results will happen, as long as there is consistency and pleasure in reaping the benefits of living a quality life.

Because I work with a woman who are working moms. One piece of advice that I would give would be to learn to truly love yourself the way you are in whatever stage of life you may be. When you love yourself, you care about being the best possible version of yourself by taking care of yourself and it all starts with self-love.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?

I love my parents and what they did was one of the greatest sacrifices any parent would make for their child. They had the American dream they left everything behind, they brought me to this country so I could have better opportunities, better schools, better quality of life! In 2020 I became a US Citizen. I have lived in this country for 28 years, but that single decision was not light or straightforward, I wouldn’t be where I am today because of that decision.
