Meet Jacklene Creekmore

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jacklene Creekmore. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Jacklene, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?

I owe my work ethic to my parents. They’ve always exemplified hard work and dedication in everything they do. We often joke that our family never stops moving, but it’s true. They instilled in me the belief that achieving your goals requires relentless effort and that nothing is simply handed to you. Embracing failure as a learning opportunity has also been a crucial lesson from them, shaping me into who I am today.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I am the CEO and founder of Modafleur, a lifestyle brand offering women’s clothing, jewelry, and tabletop decor. My goal in starting Modafleur was to inspire and empower women to embrace their individuality and express their unique style with confidence. Fashion has been my passion since childhood, serving as my creative outlet. Our collections, influenced by my love for florals, patterns, and color, are designed to make women feel beautiful, stand out, and be their most authentic selves.

I’m thrilled about the upcoming launch of our Fall clothing collection. We’ve dedicated nearly a year to perfecting these newest styles. In addition, we have new linens and accessories set to launch in the next few months. We’re also hoping to partner with one or two Italian brands to introduce their unique pieces to our store.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, the three qualities that were most impactful in my journey as an entrepreneur are courage, a strong work ethic, and passion. Starting a business requires immense courage—you need to be willing to take risks and leap into the unknown. A strong work ethic is crucial because the early stages of building a business involve long hours and juggling multiple tasks. Passion is equally essential because the entrepreneurial path is fraught with challenges and tough decisions. Your passion will sustain you through difficult times and drive you toward success.

For those early in their journey, I advise cultivating these qualities. Embrace risks and step out of your comfort zone to develop your courage. Build a robust work ethic by setting high standards for yourself and staying disciplined. And most importantly, find what truly excites and motivates you, as this passion will be the fuel that keeps you moving forward.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?

When I feel overwhelmed, I focus on prioritizing the most important tasks and remind myself that not everything is urgent. I have a tendency to treat every task as urgent, which can be exhausting. By consciously prioritizing and delegating, I’m working on managing my time and energy more effectively. My advice is to take a step back, assess what truly needs immediate attention, and give yourself permission to let some tasks wait. This approach helps me maintain balance and prevents burnout.
