Meet Jaclyn Albergoni

We were lucky to catch up with Jaclyn Albergoni recently and have shared our conversation below.

Jaclyn, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
Perseverance has been my guiding force. Countless times, I’ve faced setbacks and adversity, but my determination to triumph has never wavered. I wanted to make my younger self proud, to provide what I yearned for during my formative years. Life, to me, is a single, precious opportunity, and I am resolute in ensuring it is not lived in vain. My purpose is to infuse life with meaning and create a lasting impact. My driving force comes from people letting me down, and eventually, I let myself down. Once I hit rock bottom I knew I had two choices, commit to life or not. I chose to try and be okay with failure, however still give it my best. Through hard work building a relationship with myself, showing up for myself, and being more authentic eventually led me to be confident.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
In my formative years, I encountered a spectrum of profound life experiences, which have since become invaluable assets in shaping my professional journey. I confronted the challenges of an eating disorder, battled addiction, and years of depression, and grappled with an array of mental health complexities. As you can imagine this should have created a shell of a human, and I was for some time.

When I moved to Los Angeles to pursue my acting career, the move was tough and I struggled for years. Eventually, everything took a toll when I developed a panic disorder and ended up in hospital. I had no fight left in me, my spirit had been drained, leaving me no choice but to return to Australia in pursuit of healing. This was a six-month journey and my breaking point.

I had to make changes, and I knew that there was a way out. So I became obsessed with healing, and learning and I committed to my healing practices: years of self-help, research trial, and error, and eventually I was able to let go of my addiction, my depression, negative thinking, and years of negative habits and I truly transformed my whole world. I did it! It worked.

During this transformative period, I stumbled upon a unique meditation technique that I had developed organically. I soon realized that I had created my own meditation technique. This revelation led to the creation of my meditation channel. Today, I proudly serve as a meditation coach and group facilitator, specializing in guiding individuals on their paths of self-development and self-empowerment, particularly in overcoming issues related to drugs and alcohol. My commitment to this mission extends to the growth of my enterprises, where I aspire to continue aiding and instructing others.

In my journey, I’ve come to recognize that healing serves as the fundamental key to humanity’s well-being, an essential need for both individuals and our planet. I am also passionate about advocating for animal rights, with a vision to establish an animal rescue center in the future.

At present, my literary accomplishments include one self-published book, ‘Thoughts and Poems of a Suicide Girl,’ as well as my contribution to the ‘Imperfectly Perfect Book Series Volume 1.’ I am also diligently working on another literary project, ‘The Book of Realms.’

In essence, my life has evolved into a profound odyssey of transformation, self-discovery, and unwavering commitment to empowering others on their journeys toward healing and self-realization.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
1- Transform your pain into your greatest asset – Harness your life experiences as powerful tools for self-development and self-awareness. They possess the potential to become your most valuable resources.

2- If you never try you are sure to fail – Understand that giving up guarantees failure, but learning from your setbacks and embracing them with resilience is the path to growth. Seek inspiration from those you admire and learn from them. Stop listening to everyone’s opinion and only select the ones that matter and that are relevant to your vision.

3- Hurt people hurt people, but healed people heal people – I once inflicted pain on others due to my own inner turmoil, but I’ve come to realize the futility of perpetuating this cycle. Now, I focus on healing myself and extending that healing to others, thereby breaking the cycle.

I firmly believe that our existence in this world is an opportunity for profound growth and expansion. Although the journey of growth may not always be enjoyable, it is necessary to become who you dream of being. Comfort is stagnation. Seek expansion. When you wholeheartedly accept this truth, live according to a clear vision of your future, and cultivate self-awareness, you possess the essential ingredients for achieving success, whatever that means to you.

We’ve all got limited resources, time, energy, focus etc – so if you had to choose between going all in on your strengths or working on areas where you aren’t as strong, what would you choose?
This depends. Depends on what you want. It’s a matter of perspective and personal goals. Your direction depends on your aspirations. Let’s say that you are an actor who is great at drama, however, if you aspire to get into comedy, it’s then crucial to develop your comedic skills. Conversely, if you find fulfillment in the world of drama, nurturing those abilities is the path to follow.

Look at what makes you unhappy and develop those skills. This is a form of self-empowerment. If there is something you are not good at then fix it! Work at it and get better.

I love writing, but most people do not know that English is really my second language and I did most of my schooling in Italy. I also suspect that I have some form of dyslexia. So writing posed a challenge, a pain point for me because I wanted to be a writer. So, I wrote and wrote and made mistakes and continued to make more mistakes, however, I got better and I now am on my third book. If I hadn’t developed that skill, I would have never developed the confidence and therefore I would have never written my books.

Similarly, in the realm of business, if your strength lies in envisioning the big picture but you struggle with technical aspects, consider this a growth opportunity. Address the pain point, work on building your confidence, and ultimately build your business.
