Meet Jaclyn Bradley

We were lucky to catch up with Jaclyn Bradley recently and have shared our conversation below.

Jaclyn, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
Resilience comes from the fall… and the getting back up again. To successfully pursue a career in the arts, you have to get used to hearing “no”… A LOT!!! Especially in the beginning. Success comes from moving forward and trying again, on repeat, until the universe lands you in the perfect spot at the perfect time. It isn’t particularly easy…but I think it’s a marvelous journey with many gifts along the way.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
A am founder and director of Rock Town Music Academy in Lorain, Ohio, where we teach voice, guitar, piano, drums, violin, saxophone and acting to students of all ages.

In addition, I facilitate hospital music therapy.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Passion (when you do what you love, it isn’t really work, but a calling).

Consistency (I studied and pursued music, without deviating, all my life).

Allowing (I surrendered, trusted and learned from EVERY thing).

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë

I was mesmerized by this character and her quest for self-love, independence, love and truth.

She also didn’t fight the path… and it always led her to where she was meant to be.
