Meet Jaclyn D’Amico

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jaclyn D’Amico. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jaclyn below.

Hi Jaclyn, so happy to have you on the platform and I think our readers are in for a treat because you’ve got such an interesting story and so much insight and wisdom. So, let’s start with a topic that is relevant to everyone, regardless of industry etc. What do you do for self-care and how has it impacted you?

Self-care isn’t something I treat as an occasional reward — it’s part of how I stay effective, grounded, and present in both my business and my personal life.

I prioritize nervous system regulation practices like yoga, meditation, infrared sauna sessions, red light therapy, and intentional quiet time without stimulation. I also focus on hydration, movement, and protecting time in my schedule where I’m not in “output mode.” As someone who holds space for others, I’ve learned that I can only create a calm, restorative experience for clients if I’m regulated myself.

The biggest effect self-care has had on my effectiveness is clarity and my ability to handle stress. When I consistently take care of my body and nervous system, I make better decisions, communicate more clearly, and show up with more patience and creativity. I’m less reactive and more intentional. It also prevents burnout, which is especially important as a business owner.

Self-care has shifted from something I “fit in” to something that directly supports my leadership, resilience, and the quality of service I provide. When I’m well-regulated and energized, everyone I work with benefits from that.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

Spruced was created with the goal to form lasting relationships and deliver unparalleled results while using environmentally conscious products and practices that honor my clients and respect our world. From customized eyebrows to skin treatments, all of our services are elevated to combine relaxation with results – the best of both worlds. Having just added our brand-new, state-of-the art wellness suite, we can take this even further. Every detail at The Sauna at Spruced was chosen with intention – from the materials and layout to the energy of the room – so it feels grounding, restorative, and deeply calming the moment you step in. Our wellness suite is completely private and gives you access to the Sunlighten mPulse Believe Smart Infrared Sauna with included red light therapy, vibration plate, chromotherapy, aromatherapy, makeup removal station with premium products, muscle release tools, complimentary waters, curated teas, electrolytes, and shared library.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

The ability to stay disciplined, to have integrity, and learning to tap into and protect energy have been the most impactful for me. Discipline encompasses many things, from staying organized at the back-end of your business, to the way you keep track of your client’s formulas, homecare routines, and recommendations that you have. While I surely have not always been perfect, in my opinion this is one of the most important skills to have as a business owner. It not only helps you keep your services consistent and to keep meeting client expectations but also will help you manage things from inventory to your taxes much more efficiently and intelligently.

Integrity is all about keeping it honest and making the best choices for you and your clients, even when it involves telling them no to something they really want but might not be the best fit for them. Creating trust between you and your clients is the cornerstone to forming lasting relationships and long-term success, even when it means losing out a little in the short-term.

Working with many people and physically touching them means lots of energy exchanges. It’s important to learn how to protect your own energy and also how to clean yourself of any lingering or unwanted energies. It will help you go from feeling drained and “matching” your client’s energy to level-headed and in control of your day. Some of my favorite practices are silently asking for permission to give the client what they need energetically while protecting my own before starting a session and envisioning this person’s energy separating from mine at the end of the session. I also highly recommend rinsing your hands and arms with running water and imagining their energy being washed away from you.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

I am absolutely looking for like-minded individuals in the wellness industry – fitness, nutrition, yoga, mediation, breathwork – to feature with the wellness suite and be able to give our guests even more tools to elevate their experience. Please connect with me via email at [email protected].
