Meet Jacqueline Austin

We recently connected with Jacqueline Austin and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Jacqueline, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

Back in 2015, I was working a job that didn’t value what I brought to the table. I had my degrees, the skills, and the drive — but not the fulfillment or the financial recognition that matched . I knew I was meant for something greater, something that allowed me to use my creativity and make an impact in a more personal way.

That’s when I decided to bet on myself and create Chameleon Artistry. What started as a small idea quickly became my life’s purpose — blending my love for event design, planning, and makeup artistry into one brand built around transformation.

Today, when I see a space come to life or a client’s confidence shine after a makeover, I’m reminded why I started. My purpose is simple yet powerful: to transform spaces and faces, bringing visions to life and helping people feel as beautiful and celebrated as the moments we create together.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I didn’t grow up with a lot of resources. In fact, there were times I was juggling two jobs, going to school, and raising my daughter as a single parent all at once. Now, professionally, I’m all about growing my business and expanding my brand—introducing a makeup line and creating digital products that help women find their confidence.

What we do at Chameleon Artistry is all about transformation. We help women see their own beauty through makeup, and we bring special moments to life by transforming spaces for their big days. And looking ahead to 2026, we’re excited to give back by sponsoring prom experiences for young ladies who might not have the financial support to enjoy that milestone. Plus, we’re gearing up for a busy year of weddings and we’ll be out there at local and regional bridal shows.

In other words, it’s a journey from working multiple jobs to building a brand that’s all about confidence and transformation.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, I’d say the three most impactful qualities on my journey have been a commitment to continuous learning, setting healthy boundaries, and perseverance. My advice for anyone starting out is to never stop educating yourself. Keep taking classes, stay current on your skills, and really hone your craft. It’s that continuous learning that keeps you sharp.

Also, setting boundaries is crucial. Sometimes you have to put yourself and your business first and know when to say no, especially when you’re mixing business and friendships. And finally, don’t give up. Perseverance is everything. Those three things together can really help you grow and improve along the way.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?

I’d say the most impactful thing my parents did for me was to show me how to make a way out of no way. They taught me the value of working hard for what I want and going after my dreams, no matter what obstacles come up. They also showed me how to be adaptable. So when things go wrong, it’s not about giving up, but about finding another way forward. In short, they really instilled in me the mindset of resilience and adaptability, and that’s been invaluable on my journey.
