Meet Jacqueline Galvin

We recently connected with Jacqueline Galvin and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Jacqueline, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

My work ethic comes from my upbringing, especially my father, who rose to a high rank in a branch of U.S. Steel. He rarely missed work and was ethical and honest in his dealings. He was a Secretary-Treasurer in charge of large amounts of money. There were those who were not as honest, but he never followed those people on their path. He encouraged me to do my best, compete in sports, and get an education to stand out from the crowd.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

As President of Live Life’s Rich Moments, my fiance, Mark Ray, and I are the voice of The Road Less Traveled, documenting our excursions from one-tank trips in little-known corners of the country to major cities and landscapes. With the “Go Book” of Grace for Grant, Mark and I have visited nearly 100 cities, gaining signatures and memories to be auctioned off for pediatric cancer charities in the near future. We are currently seeking partners for this venture, such as a children’s hospital, childhood cancer organizations, or agencies that work with children with cancer.

The Road Less Traveled started accidentally when we began a trip to nowhere and ended up lost, but with a fun story to share. The lifestyle blog features places, people, and events and supports local businesses and events near and far.

My background is as an editor, photographer, writer, proofreader, and public speaker. My speaking centers around working through grief through writing, with an emphasis and instruction on taking a book from idea to publication. In addition to The Road Less Traveled, my Tucker and Reggie mystery series novels are being released on Amazon and will include additional distribution soon. The prequel to the series, A Tease of Murder, is available as a gift for joining my Book Club on my author site. Murder for Afternoon Tea: Episodes I-III, re-released in January 2025. Formerly the Sea Gables Murders, Afternoon Tea introduces you to the set of characters that will be entertaining you throughout the series. Death in Paradise: Secrets of the Croquet Club launched in December 2024 and is set on Useppa Island, a historical island off the coast of southwest Florida. Launching May 2025 is The Brooklands Motor Course Murders, set entirely in England at the Brooklands Museum. Releasing later this year is Strangled in the Vines, featuring Cleveland, Ohio, and the Buccia Vineyard Winery and B&B in Conneaut, Ohio. The Broome Park Murders will be released in 2025/26 and features the 1638 historic Broome Park Hotel and Golf Course in picturesque Canterbury, United Kingdom. The Continental Divide Murders is a spin-off of the Tucker and Reggie series and will debut its I-III episodes also in 2026.
The most exciting aspect of my work is where it takes us. All the locations within the pages of these works are actual destinations in beautiful locations. To promote these upcoming launches, we will be scheduling forthcoming book fairs, launch parties, and book signings. Join our book club and be a part of it all as Advanced Copy Readers before each release.
The Continental Divide Murders, a spin-off of the Tucker and Reggie mystery series, will feature scenic locations in Colorado and Utah and will be released in 2026. Follow us on The Road Less Traveled and see where it takes you!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

The most important qualities or skills on my literary journey are ones that can be cultivated and honed as time passes. I have, at times, undervalued networking, which is an important aspect of the author experience. We are always learning and sharpening skills through additional education. In the writing arena, methods, marketing, and motives change as quickly as the space in which they live. Always be willing to learn and interact with those interests and people that enhance your journey and experiences.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

We love to collaborate. You learn so much from people out in the world doing what you’re doing but with different ideas and methods. The areas of travel and cooking are always a big attraction. We love to share with other authors and help each other move forward with our projects. My genre is mainly cozy mystery, sprinkled with a little romance and always crime. There’s always someone dying to be in my books. Networking with reader groups, book clubs, author reader swaps, and product support are important facets of collaborative efforts.
