Jacqueline, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
My resilience is undoubtedly inherited from my ancestors. Understanding the lives of our forebears holds immense value. Observing the struggles and achievements of my ancestors in times of adversity inspires me to believe that I too can conquer and create a better tomorrow. The history of our lineage demonstrates that no matter the circumstances, positive or negative, if our predecessors survived, we too can triumph. Thus, I am a direct beneficiary of the perseverance of my ancestors!
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My purpose, passion, and calling revolve around supporting, inspiring, and making a positive impact on women’s lives. This stems from the painful experience of losing my beloved son, Justin, at the age of 15 in 2004. In the aftermath of Justin’s passing, I realized the importance of community and aiding women who have experienced similar grief and heartache. As time has passed, my mission has grown into a larger and more profound purpose than I could have ever imagined. I attribute my journey thus far to the guidance of God, and for that, I am immensely grateful. The vision and resources that God has bestowed upon me have enabled me to establish an exceptional and resilient community known as Jacquie ooh.
The purpose behind establishing this community was to provide aid and encouragement to fellow women, to foster collaboration, and to extend our services to them, helping to foster significant positive changes. Our goal is to assist women in understanding that their journey is unique and to have faith in the process. We aim to inspire women to thrive in their current situation and to comprehend the importance of timing in their lives. Our community is comprised of women who are dedicated to supporting you through your struggles and rejoicing in your triumphs. We have created an atmosphere of inclusivity and encouragement, where you can confidently express your true self and be assured of receiving appreciation, empowerment, visibility, and attentiveness. Our community embraces you during your moments of despair, and comprised of women driven by purpose who share our values. Each one of us has a unique calling, and it is our responsibility to fulfill it when God bestows it upon us. Ultimately, our community emphasizes the importance of putting others before ourselves.
The wonderful aspect of our community is that there are no membership fees required to join Jacquie Ooh. All that is necessary is to follow us, participate in our activities, and evolve alongside us.
Ways we serve the women of our community:
One of the ways in which we serve the women in our community is by hosting a monthly virtual talk show called “Motivational Monday with Jacquie Ooh.” This show airs on the first Monday of every month at 7pm CST, and is streamed live on our Facebook page and YouTube channel. During this show, we delve into various topics, including parenting, finances, menopause, domestic violence, education, marriage, imposter syndrome, mental health, men’s mental health, managing multiple responsibilities, day trading, starting a business, navigating relationships, setting realistic goals, lifestyle changes, and much more. Our discussions not only explore these topics in depth, but also offer practical solutions and resources to enable women to succeed in these areas.
At Jacquie Ooh, we offer an all-natural skincare line that exclusively uses certified organic ingredients. Our skincare products are a blend of affordable luxury and nourishment, providing your skin with the same richness as gourmet food. By purchasing our skincare line, you are contributing towards a meaningful cause. Part of the revenue generated from the sale of our skincare line is allocated towards financing our Motivational Monday with Jacquie Ooh shows and addressing any requests for aid we receive from our community.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Persistence. Consistency. Patience. My words of advice to everyone out there are simple: never give up! There will be numerous instances when you may feel like giving up, especially when things don’t go as planned, or when they take longer than anticipated. During such times, it’s natural to feel demotivated, but I urge you to keep pushing yourself. Always remember that everything is seasonal – situations change, and so do seasons. Life may throw unexpected curveballs, causing you to stumble and fall. However, it’s important to remember that falling down is okay, but staying down is not an option. So, pick yourself up, dust off the setbacks, and keep moving forward. Timing is everything, and all things work out for good, even if they don’t seem that way initially.
Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
The influence of my parents on my life is immeasurable. They have instilled in me the belief that I can achieve anything I set my mind to, and have provided guidance on raising my own children. They are my confidants – the people I turn to in moments of joy or when I make mistakes. Whenever I am in need of prayer, I know that I can count on them. Even if my dad is in another room, my mom will call out to him saying, “Robert, Jacquie needs us to pray!” My parents have been exemplary role models, demonstrating the true meaning of hard work. They have provided me with guidance and support during difficult times, sharing their wisdom on how to navigate both business and family matters. Above all, they have taught me the importance of love and forgiveness through their actions and words.
