We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jacqueline Parsons. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jacqueline below.
Hi Jacqueline, so great to have you on the platform. There’s so much we want to ask you, but let’s start with the topic of self-care. Do you do anything for self-care and if so, do you think it’s had a meaningful impact on your effectiveness?
My self-care routine involves exercising regularly, eating healthy, staying hydrated, spending time in nature, staying connected to source, daily prayer and meditation, practicing healthy skin care regimens, getting lots of rest, reading self development books, setting goals and priorities, maintaining a high vibration, practicing gratitude, and overrall; putting myself first.
Making self-care essential has improved my outlook on life. I feel purposeful. I’m happier. I’m in a place of peace and contentment. My physical, mental, and spiritual health has improved tremendously. Taking the time out for self has placed me in alignment with my purpose. I learned that the more that I pour into myself, the more I’ll be able to attract the meaningful connections that I’m destined to have.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
In 2022, I went through a series of turning events that pushed me into self discovery. Prior, I wasn’t living the life I wanted for myself, so I took that time to focus completely on myself and doing the things that were authentically me. I decided to take a leap of faith into the modeling industry and thats when I began my modeling journey in the Fall of 2022. The following year I was able to get the opportunity to walk in several fashion runway shows in Atlanta and few out of state. I’ve worked on several studio shoot projects that helped build my portfolio. I was honored to be published as a cover model in Fashion Republic’s September 2023 Star Edition Magazine. I also was selected as a featured model in their 2023 August Issue.
I’m currently working on a stageplay project that will be in March 2024. I’m preparing for my role as one of the main cast members. The title of the stageplay is Monkeys Can’t Sell Bananas, written and directed by Seni Marquis.
I’m really excited about this amazing opportunity to showcase my acting talents. This will be my first stageplay so I’m looking forward to making my mark. For more information and tickets, visit

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Self-discipline, self-confidence, and trusting in my faith were the skills that I developed overtime that were most impactful in my journey.
In order to develop or improve on any of these skills; being responsible and holding yourself accountable is imperative in self improvement. If you find yourself struggling to follow through; try setting a goal and accomplishing that goal. Your focus should not be about being perfect but more about being deligent. Set standards for yourself and believe in your success.
Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
My grandparents were the prime example in my life that helped me develop the essential skills, qualities, and knowledge that I needed to be successful.
I was raised by my father’s parents from age 3 1/2. They natured me the best way they knew how being that my mother was absent from my life due to drug and alcohol abuse and my father was struggling with building his stability. Growing up, my grandparents instilled in me lots of displine. They were stern when it came to having structure. They thought me how to be grateful and how to make do with the smallest of things. They passed unto to me their ole time Caribbean upbringings. They were hardworking, religious, and deligent in everything that they did. Their lessons has helped me navigate through life. I’ve had many moments where I had to
apply the knowledge, wisdom, and skills of my grandparents. They were my beacon of light and they are reason behind my success.
