Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jacqueline Rodriguez. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Jacqueline , you’ve got such an interesting story, but before we jump into that, let’s first talk about a topic near and dear to us – generosity. We think success, happiness and wellbeing depends on authentic generosity and empathy and so we’d love to hear about how you become such a generous person – where do you think your generosity comes from?
My generosity comes from my parents. They’ve always taught me that if I’m in a position to help someone, to do it. They constantly remind me to remain humble as well, because the same way God gives, God takes. I feel that my faith also plays a significant role in my generosity. God calls us to serve and love others, and I believe He blesses us so that we can go and bless others. Being generous not only makes a difference in the lives of other people, it enriches our own as well.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Hi, I’m Jacqueline, but I go by Jackie. I’m a photographer based in Alvarado, Texas, but love serving DFW and surrounding areas. I’ve taken photographs of families, seniors, babies, expecting moms, couples, and just so much more. When I’m not photographing people, you can find me taking pictures of the beautiful nature that surrounds us!
I am also an advertising and graphic design student, which means I’ll be offering more services such as logo design, branding, ad creations, and more in the near future!
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, I think three of the most impactful qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge in my journey have been perseverance, adaptability, and creativity. Perseverance has helped me push through challenges, adaptability has allowed me to learn and grow in a field that is constantly changing, and creativity has been the core of my work, allowing me to approach projects with fresh ideas. A willingness to learn has always also played a huge role throughout my journey.
For those starting their journey, I would suggest practicing regularly, seeking feedback, and staying curious and open to learning and growing everyday. Embrace challenges as an opportunity to grow, and stay open-minded to new ideas techniques, and changes in general. Believe in yourself and in your craft no matter what it is and remember that every step, no matter how small, is progress towards your goals.
Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
The most impactful thing my parents did and continue to do is support me unconditionally. They’ve believed in me, encouraged me to pursue my passions, and have stood by me through every success and failure. Their unwavering support has given me the confidence to chase my dreams and the strength to overcome any and every obstacle. They’ve been the driving force behind my journey, and I’m forever grateful for their love and support.
