Meet Jada LeeDunn

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jada LeeDunn a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Jada, thank you so much for joining us and offering your lessons and wisdom for our readers. One of the things we most admire about you is your generosity and so we’d love if you could talk to us about where you think your generosity comes from.

As a young girl, I learned that it was a lot better to give than to receive. I learned that there is always someone less fortunate that would give anything to be where I am. And as I got older, those life lessons continued to grow. Through hardships of my own, I am always trying to find ways to help others and give back. I’m always looking for new ways to grow and change for the better. To give is to show love. And showing love towards others is something I love to do! One of the best ways I do that is through my photography. I always strive to have affordable prices and great deals as a way to show my generosity and passion I have for what I do.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

Photography is my passion and something I hold dear to my heart. What gets me most excited is seeing how happy I make my clients with my art! I love exploring new ways to bring photographs to life through a more candid and personal style that I’ve developed. I’m always trying to find new ways to expand what I do by seeking out fun and creative outlets to express my love for my art form. My main focus is to bring others happiness and joy. That’s it. I love the business side of things, but if my clients aren’t happy then I’m not happy. Bringing joy and smiles to others is what I live for. I love having an expressive, personal style. I love being more candid than posed. I love to bring life and light to my photos. I want my clients to look back and remember the session forever.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Being myself, having my own style, and listening to positivity are the three main qualities that have been the most impactful. Everyone has competition. Every field of work. Every craft or skill. Every book. Every song. We all, at some point, have had a reason to look at someone else’s work and say “damn…they’re so much better than me. I should give up.” DON’T. LISTEN. TO THAT VOICE. Ever. Giving up is never an option. You may not be where you want to be right now (Lord knows I’m not), but refusing to give up is what makes a person great! Be YOU. Have fun with your craft and art. Do it because you love it, not because someone else said that’s what you should be doing. Be positive, even when it’s hard. Be positive through the tears and pain. Be positive through each and every hardship. Be positive when positivity seems like a distant dream. Develop your style. The ones who support you truly and wholeheartedly are your audience. If your friends and family aren’t cutting it, find your audience in strangers. There’s always someone out there who will love what you do, and that first someone should always be you.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

SMALL. BUSINESSES!!! Entrepreneurs!!! I have business deals that I launched last year and I would LOVE to work with more businesses! People that need real and authentic photos of their day to day work life. People who make and sell products. These would not just be point and shoot photos. I live to show the real side of a business as well as what they are selling or promoting. As an entrepreneur myself, I’m always finding ways to work with and give back to people like me who are just trying to make it out here. So if there are any small businesses out there that need professional and fun photos done, PLEASE don’t hesitate to reach out!
