We were lucky to catch up with Jade Patteri recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Jade, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
My parents and teachers have demonstrated incredible work ethic over the years! My parents are both in the industry and I’ve gown up watching them in their craft since I was 4. My parents taught me that resilience in this industry is everything, especially since it can be a number game. Believing in yourself is incredibly important, Especially when you’re more likely to here more no’s than you here yes’s. I grew up in a household where my parents were not only my teachers but also sent me some of the best teachers for this type of field. My teachers also became a huge influence and astounding example of how hard work pays of. I was told from an early age from both my parents and teachers that hard work surpasses talent and that riding on pure talent will only get you so far. Pushing yourself, training and believing you’ll get there is essential. Without the belief in your self you lack the want to train. And if you don’t train you will get passed by from someone who is out there bettering their craft every second. Believe in yourself and surround yourself with people who can be an example of that.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I have been singing, dancing and acting since I was 5! I grew up in an extremely musical family so there was no chance of me NOT becoming a performer. From a young age I was in classes learning all genres of dancing, singing and acting. My first huge professional job was playing “Young Jane” in the World Premiere of “Jane Eyre.” From there I caught the bug and have been living to perform and create ever since. I started writing music not long after and slowly but surely began releasing music independently. Now I release primarily pop rock music and have just added classical compositions and opera to the mix. I hope to fit a gap I feel is missing in the music industry and will be releasing a new song called “Cupid’s Vicious” very soon that showcases more of what this new genre of music entails! With my music I love to add as many aspects of storytelling and dance as I can, especially in my music videos. Story telling is a huge part of my music and you can be sure to expect quite the video to be just as thought out as the lyrics behind the song. My newest song “Throne” is a great example of just how far I will go to tell a fun story in the few minutes I have to tell it. If you’d like to check it out please go to my YouTube channel! Dance is also a huge part of my brand and my life. I’ve been choreographing and dancing professionally for years and I look foreword to finding new ways to implement it in my brand. I will be also performing sometime in the near future. I plan on releasing a few songs in this new genre before getting back on stage. You can follow my IG @jadepatteri for more updates on performances and music releases.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Resilience, Humility and Self appreciation are three things I believe are essential. Being a people pleaser my whole life taught me quite a few things. I learned that resilience is important, however healthy and real resilience requires you to believe in yourself. There was a time where I genuinely did not understand my value and realized I thought I believed in myself… but my actions and mentality said otherwise. Learning to see your value will not only make you stronger but it will help you want to push through the tough parts in order to see the fruit of your hard work. Having humility throughout all of this is also crucial because believing in yourself should not cause you to dismiss other because you feel as though you’re the only deserving person on the planet. Be humble and realize that this world doesn’t only revolve around you, however you play an insanely important part in it! Surround yourself with people who lift you up but also push you. Your circle matters and your own self worth and self determination is essential to this as well!
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Absolutely! I’m always open to collaborating. My new genre is classical opera mixed with pop rock! I would love to collaborate with any artists who feel as though they fit with any of these genres or would like to expand and work with me on a song. I love working with new people and if you’d ever like to connect or check out my music, you can follow me on all platforms at @jadepatteri. You can also reach out to my team online @kbrecordinggroup.
