We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jae Grind a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Jae , so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.
How I keep my creativity alive is by spending a lot of time to myself. What that means is im a thinker and I reflect a lot and i have such an imagination and honesty God has given me a gift to work and my mind moves so fast and because of my experiences and how observant I am it makes me think of ideas right on the spot. When I create an album a song a poem I’ll finish and then I’m on to the next thing and it’s like my heart and soul continues to express so much energy and so much moments to express in such a short time. It never stops and i love it.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Whats going on everyone my name is Jae Grind From the Bronx New York I’m a Hip-Hop Artists Actor Model and how I came to be and how it all started was when I was 8 years old I just came up with my first rap called “break the face” then in my younger years was influenced by gospel artists such as marymary kirk Franklin Christian hiphop Artists and secular artists such as 2pac nas styles p lloyd banks dmx rakim AZ Big Pun fat joe and etc even in rnb soul like common murs Mac Miller and so many artists shaped me today as a rapper and I never got into acting it was due to my mother for therapeutic reasons and modeling was a way of showing myself self care but I learned that as I got older and matured! I’m an Artists who’s looking to express to the unspoken to the misunderstood and the unheard and im providing not just regular music but music to touch the soul merchandise and experiences to help you pass the time!
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The qualities looking back is consistency discipline and focus! This helped me keep a strong mind during trials and tribulations and to stay the course and not allow others to influence you to take you off track and bring you back to square one. My advice to someone starting out is to know your why and make sure what you’re doing is impacting meaningful and you’re genuine as well.

What is the number one obstacle or challenge you are currently facing and what are you doing to try to resolve or overcome this challenge?
The number one challenge I’m facing is support because pushing yourself has its pros and it’s cons and it can feel draining depressing and lonely and finding a team is difficult in a world Where everyone is out for themselves
