Meet Jahleel Gordon

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jahleel Gordon. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jahleel below.

Jahleel , so great to be with you and I think a lot of folks are going to benefit from hearing your story and lessons and wisdom. Imposter Syndrome is something that we know how words to describe, but it’s something that has held people back forever and so we’re really interested to hear about your story and how you overcame imposter syndrome.

It’s so easy to get caught up in the things we see. Whether it be on tv, YouTube, IG, TikTok, the urge to want to emulate someone can become something you unknowingly do. Especially when what you see someone else doing what you currently do. Overcoming imposter syndrome wasn’t very difficult for me. It’s like trying to wear a shoe that two sizes too small, you immediately get uncomfortable. I was trying to be like other estheticians, “skinfluencers” and other influencers but then I realized that it just wasnt my speed. I hated the content I pushed, I felt uncomfortable pushing the same narrative that was being glorified, I didn’t feel like I belonged in the space that was already created so I created my own.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

IM JUST A GIRL!

I’m just a girl who helps people feel confident in their skin, formulates skincare, and loves all things skincare! As an esthetician, I enjoy informing people about different types of skincare they can use to help them find the right fit for them. Performing facials are exciting and relaxing from start to finish, once im in my zone, im in my ZONE. It’s just takes me to another place of joy haha, like it’s just so peaceful for me. When I perform facials, I feel how a painter would feel after finally finishing a painting they have been working on for a long time.
Being an esthetician, for me, is one of those things that just makes sense. I have recently made my way over to TikTok and I feel like im reaching my targeted audience. I get to be fun and creative while being extremely informative. Fall 2024, I will be launching my new and improved skincare line. It’s been a work in progress and I cannot wait to launch it. STAY TUNED!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Three qualities to have is resilience, optimism, and faith. Without those three you might as well call it a wrap. Without having faith in myself and setting realistic goals, I have been able to find myself in places that i could only imagine. I also want to throw in consistency, that’s a huge thing to add.
My small piece of advice is to keep going. I dont have an infamous quote, I dont have anything inspirational, all i can advise anyone to do is to keep going. You keep pushing, you keep believing, you keep enduring. The journey is hard, it may take you longer than others but it’s your journey. You create your reality, you control your narrative. Early on i felt like i needed to be like everyone else, I got imposter syndrome. Not liking where i was, I changed that immediately because I knew it wasn’t me.
Make that vision board, create a list, buy that agenda and organize things yourself. Surround yourself with support, people who truly believe in your vision as if it were theirs too. This is to anyone who has a dream, with the support of loved ones, faith, optimism, consistency, and resilience, you will go very far. Don’t worry about how long, just worry about getting there.

How would you spend the next decade if you somehow knew that it was your last?

A particular challenge im facing at the moment is finding that mom life balance. I’ve finally gotten in a comfortable position career wise that allows me to actually live and enjoy life while having stability. But being a new mom, I sometimes get so absorbed in my little munchkin, but if you saw his cute littl cheeks you’d be obsessed too! I feel like once I crack that code, I would be unstoppable!
