Meet Jaida Jaii Jada Hood

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jaida Jaii Jada Hood. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jaida Jaii below.

Hi Jaida Jaii, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
My resilience comes from struggle, trials, triumphs and breakthroughs. Knowing that all things work together for the good of those who love God and those who are called according to his purpose. I am always looking for the lesson in any and every situation in my life, in any delay, heartbreak, divine intervention and in my everyday life in general. Holding on to God’s promise that he has a plan to prosper me and not to harm me but to give me hope and a future is more than enough for me to see it through.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Jaida Jaii, born as Jada Hood, is a 21 year old musical artist born and raised in Augusta, Georgia. Starting music at the age of 15 years old. I enjoy using my God given talent to channel my artistry through Hip-Hop,Rap, R&B and spreading the gospel through my platforms. As I grow closer to christ I want to shift my focus on spreading his Gospel. I ultimately strive to become the woman God has created me to be. Growing up in Augusta,Georgia I have always had big dreams to become a music Mogul and take care of all of my family members who are ever in need. I am a Senior Political Science Major with a Mass communications minor at the Illustrious Claflin University. My goal is to become a Lawyer and help represent those wrongly convicted of crimes and those who have been excessively sentenced. I have always had a thing for wanting to know the law and wanting justice for those who deserve a second chance. Growing up seeing how struggle leads to crime and how poverty affects the upbringing of children, I also want to one day start a Non-Profit organization for children living in low income communities. I am a graphic designer of my 5 year old Graphic designing business Graphics By Jaida Jaii. I am brave, resilient, talented and passionate about any and everything I put my mind to. Understanding that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me I refuse to let society restrict me to just one lane. A Small town girl with Big Faith based dreams! I dream to become the woman who God created me to be.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The three most important qualities in my musical journey has to be is Self worth and Respect , Endurance and Christianity.

Self worth and self respect became one of my biggest lessons when looking back on my musical Journey. Understanding that You can still be the next big thing without following trends, lowering your cost, and going against what you believe you should be paid for your work.

Self Esteem because you have to be confident in who you are before trying to collaborate or work with others. If you don’t have self esteem or not comfortable in who you are then you will allow someone else’s light to dim yours while it was meant for you all to shine together. Starting out I was shy, timid, quiet and all always looking for other people’s validation. Once their validation stop coming I felt worthless, overlooked and unseen. I had to learn to accept that nobody will believe in my unless I believed in myself. It’s going to be some seasons where nobody sees the vision but you and God and you have to keep going until the world catches on to what you already knew from the start. Once you become comfortable in your skin and find your self and know who you are it’s no one who could ever dim your light but God. Find yourself, become comfortable in who and whose you are! My confidence is on 1,000 no matter what room I stand in because I had to learn my self worth.

The second quality is being able to fall and getting back up. Being able to endure has taught me a lot. Imagine spending all of your pay check on a music video for it to only get 33 views. Sometimes you have to be able to tell yourself that there is someone always watching you regardless of the amount of views ,streams, or repost. Enduring is still striving to meet your end goals even when it seems to only be 10 people in the stands. If you don’t love what you do for you and you are doing it for others you need to fall in-love with it and fast because there are ups and downs.

Lastly Seeking first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and allowing all things to be added unto me. Secure in knowing what God has for me is for me and what God has for someone else was strategically made for them. If it is for me then I will have it and if not I know that it is apart of someone else’s divine destiny.

My advice stay true to your morals, goals, and principles. Don’t give up because one day all of your hard work will pay off. Keep God at the center of any and everything you do because what he has for you will not pass you by. Don’t be a hater and support others how you want them to support you.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
The most helpful person in my life is my mom. Always around to pick me up if I fall and always allowing me to come talk to her without judgment of whatever I have going on. At my lowest and darkest moments My mom never left my side, helped pick me up and remind me of who and Whose I am each and every single time. My sister/manager Timesa who always set the bar high for me to reach and always making sure I am paid my worth and nothing less than it. They are both playing a huge role in shaping me into the woman I am becoming, in the sense of my morals, my artistry, my personality, and Self-Esteem.
