Meet Jaime Saunders

We were lucky to catch up with Jaime Saunders recently and have shared our conversation below.

Jaime, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
My work ethic most definitely comes from my parents. They had me young and worked hard to provide for us. Even now, in their 60’s, they work and spend every single weekend with their grandchildren at ball games or whatever event they may have going on. They seem to have endless energy and that lets me know I can’t stop!

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
As a photographer I see the opportunity to make memories everywhere! I find so much beauty in being able to look back at a photo and remember that moment in vivid detail. Photos can provoke so many emotions and I strive to capture that for my clients.

We have already expanded into travel photography and have several new things in the works and will be announcing them by the end of the year!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Passion. That is by far the most important thing you need in photography. You can have every technical skill in the book but if you don’t truly LOVE what you do and have a passion for it, it’s fruitless. Number 2, NEVER stop learning and expanding. No matter how good you are there are always more things to know. And number 3, network, network, network! Everywhere you go promote yourself. People buy into you before they buy into what you do.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I’m always looking for other artists to collab with! We can all learn so much from each other. From fellow photographers to music artists to other business owners…. Anyone that has a passion for what they do I’m interested in working with you!!
