We recently connected with Jaimie Schnacky and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Jaimie, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
Confidence has always been one of my strengths, which I am so grateful for! I give my parents credit, as they instilled in me that I am so capable, at a very young age. That belief bred a deep, secure confidence in me. I have been raised to KNOW my worth, & that knowing has allowed me to stand tall throughout my life. Whenever I run into any of life’s many hurdles.. I am able to lean in to this specific strength, & move forward with resilience. My confidence truly cannot be shaken!
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am an ever-evolving social seller, with a strong focus on beauty. I’ve been a professional makeup artist for 14 years, & have been in the social media marketing space for over a decade. I believe the connections we have online are such a gift, not only on a personal level, but also from a business perspective! I have turned my social media platforms into spaces where I teach, demonstrate, sell the beauty products I use & love. I love makeup, specifically, & showcase a lot of it! Besides the beauty focus, I share my personal life- my beautiful family, & I also spread the word about brands I adore. I love the ripple effect online, & knowing I can help grow other businesses, with a simple share, is so fulfilling for me! Social Media can be such an incredible tool.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that have impacted me the most are: confidence, consistency, & willingness to learn. I would say that no matter what your dream is, what’s most important while you’re going after that dream is your belief that you can achieve it! This is a confidence that is practiced. It is possible to grow that belief, & it is essential to your success. Your belief will be the catalyst for you showing up consistently & making things happen. You’ll be excited to learn along the way, & you’ll celebrate every win toward your big goal. Take advice from people you admire, & ignore the naysayers at all costs. You’re capable of achieving your wildest dreams if you’ll buckle in & give yourself the chance to accomplish what you set out to!
What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
Overwhelm is so common these days, because we are constantly being inundated with information, & comparing ourselves to others. My best advice to overcome overwhelm is to dig back into your confidence- keep flexing that confidence muscle so it grows. When we are truly confident, rather than carrying anxiousness about keeping up with those around us, we’re focused on our own journey. We are only trying to be better than we ourselves were yesterday. We grow deeper belief in ourselves, which propels us along the path toward achieving our goals. There are fewer moments where we freeze in our footsteps, & more moments where we keep on trucking. Never stop practicing confidence- it’s a life-changing gift!
