Meet Jair Bomani

We were lucky to catch up with Jair Bomani recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Jair , thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

My work ethic is something I truly believe is in my blood. My grandfather was a father of two, a full-time student, a professor, and a janitor at Rutgers University—all at once. During overnight shifts, after finishing his work early, he’d spend the rest of the night in the library studying or preparing lectures. If that’s not work ethic, I don’t know what is.

My father has followed that same path of discipline and drive. Since I moved to Philadelphia over 22 years ago, he hasn’t taken a single day off. I’ve encouraged him to rest, but his response is always, “I can’t afford to yet.” That word “yet” has always stuck with me—it says a lot about his mindset and determination.

But it’s not just the men in my family. My mother and grandmother are two of the most brilliant, strong, and loving people I know. I carry all of their strength with me, and I aspire to become everything they believe I can be—and more.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I’m currently involved in several markets, with my entrepreneurial journey starting in construction. I wanted to learn the industry from the inside out, especially with plans to move into real estate. To this day, I still do hands-on work—hardwood floors, painting, tile, and even landscaping.

My next venture is That Print Jawn, a screen printing company inspired by my love for fashion and understanding consumer needs. There’s something powerful about turning an idea into something you can wear. Beyond printing and embroidery, we also offer marketing services, specializing in gorilla marketing—bold, creative, and attention-grabbing.

Another project close to my heart is the Philadelphia Furniture Exchange. We believe everyone deserves a helping hand, so we refurbish and reupholster used furniture and sell it at affordable prices—helping people furnish their homes without breaking the bank. We’re proud to partner with United for a Better Community (UFBC), and we’ve got some exciting giveaways planned for the summer. Stay tuned

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

The qualities I value most are people skills, empathy, and true comprehension. People skills matter most to me—because people matter. In a world where everyone’s often out for themselves, it’s refreshing to connect without an agenda.

Moving around a lot forced me to develop these skills, and I’m thankful for that. Empathy helps us see beyond ourselves, and comprehension means listening to understand, not just to reply. I used to be the opposite—now, I choose to truly connect.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?

Love me no matter what.
