We recently connected with Jalin Moore and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Jalin, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
Resilience has been the cornerstone of my journey, shaped by my experiences growing up in a small, crowded household where resources were scarce but love and determination were abundant. From a young age, I took on the responsibility of changing my family’s circumstances, and football became my first avenue to that dream. Despite facing numerous challenges, from being uprooted during crucial times to not receiving offers until the last minute, I never lost faith in my ability to succeed.
When my dream of making it to the NFL seemed on the verge of being realized, an injury threatened to derail everything. Yet, even in the face of a career-ending injury, I found a way to keep pushing forward. My resilience manifested in my ability to pivot from football to entrepreneurship, starting ventures in real estate, dog breeding, and the music industry. Each setback, whether personal or professional, became fuel for my growth. My unwavering belief in my ability to change not just my life, but the lives of those around me, has been my greatest source of strength.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I have rebranded into my new company Playmakers. The inspiration comes from real life experiences. I know there’s individuals who share a similar story as mine. For most people plan A doesn’t work & it’s a scary transition when you’re entering into a new phase of life especially when you lack the motivation, information and resources.
From a founder’s perspective, I wanted to put something together that would focus on those individuals who struggle with turning challenges into opportunities.
When I’m thinking of ways that I can help make the transition from one profession to another, whether you’re a teacher, professional athlete, or a 9-5 worker. I’m pulling from when I retired from the NFL, when I first started my real estate business, what could’ve made my transition better? what wasn’t out there when I was trying to figure out my next move? Or what is out there now that we could do even better?
That’s where having the experience in sports and business plays a key role in how I can develop a blueprint for success. All while keeping it authentic.
Whatever you desire is achievable, but depending on the level of success you want takes a certain amount of effort, discipline, sacrifices, time and things of that nature.
And I think there’s a special connection between us here at Playmakers and the people. Because we’re not only helping others achieve their business goals, We are also still continuously working towards our personal goals. So in some form or another we’re helping ourselves.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Resilience, Determination, Adaptability.
Don’t be afraid to mess up, because in every failure, there’s a lesson waiting to be learned. Mistakes aren’t setbacks unless you fail to learn from them; they are stepping stones guiding you toward growth. If you’re not growing from your failures, you’re simply repeating them without purpose.
And that big idea you’ve been holding onto—the one that scares you because of how much money, time, and energy it demands—chase it. Those are the ideas that change lives. The easy wins won’t get you to where you want to be. True success requires sacrifices and resilience. If it’s worth having, it won’t come easy. Go after the challenges that push you, and watch your life transform in ways you never thought possible.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I’m looking to partner with driven entrepreneurs who are ready to be part of something bigger than themselves. If you’re a financial professional, creative thinker, marketing expert, or a go-getter with big ideas that feel out of reach on your own, I want to hear from you. I’m building a team of individuals who not only bring unique skills to the table but also understand the power of collaboration. Together, we can achieve goals that none of us could accomplish alone. If you’re ready to bring value and be a part of something impactful, let’s connect.
