We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jameela Harris. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jameela below.
Jameela, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
“The Star Was Always Me”
From plot twists to red carpets, she turned setbacks into spotlight moments.
I didn’t just stumble into confidence—I staged a comeback worthy of a Hollywood script. Every rejection was my plot twist, every setback a scene-stealer. Doubt tried to dim my light, but I treated it like a camera flash—blinding for a second, then gone. I turned pressure into performance, fear into fuel, and walked back into every room like the star of the show. Confidence wasn’t given to me. I earned it. Line by line, move by move, moment by moment.
Now, I don’t just walk in—I arrive. Heads turn. Energy shifts. My presence sets the tone. I’ve built a self-esteem that sparkles brighter than paparazzi bulbs and lasts longer than opening night. My flaws? They’re my signature. My truth? That’s my superpower. Confidence isn’t luck—it’s legacy. I built it, I own it, and like an Amazon franchise, it only gets bigger with every sequel.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

“Confidence in a tube— that’s Jameela’s Lippy.”
Right now, my world is buzzing with new ventures. My eBook Childhood Trauma, available on Amazon, is one of my proudest projects—it’s a powerful piece of my story that I turned into fuel, a message for anyone who’s ever fought to rise above their past. And then there’s Jameela’s Lippy, my signature lip chap brand, born out of my love for beauty, style, and everyday glam. It’s more than a product—it’s a movement of self-love and shine. Add in my live events, digital product launches, and brand expansions, and it feels like I’m living a Hollywood script in real time.
“My work isn’t just about me— it’s about legacy, impact, and making sure others shine too.”

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The three qualities that shaped my journey are resilience, vision, and connection.
“Every ‘no’ became the spark for my next ‘yes.’”
Resilience kept me standing when life tried to knock me down. I’ve faced rejection, setbacks, and struggles—but instead of folding, I treated each one like fuel. My advice? Don’t run from failure. Study it, flip it, and let it build you into someone unstoppable.
“If you can see it, you can script it—and then you can live it.”
Vision is what turned my ideas into reality. I never waited for permission to dream bigger than my circumstances. For anyone starting out: write your vision like it’s a Hollywood script. Cast yourself as the lead, then hustle until the credits roll in your favor.
“Connection isn’t networking—it’s energy.”
Connection is the heartbeat of everything I do. From my podcast to my products, it’s about authenticity and creating moments people feel. My advice? Be bold, be real, and build relationships that outlast the spotlight. Success is never a solo act—it’s a movement, and your tribe will be your biggest co-stars.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
“From Trauma to Triumph”
Jameela Harris turns her scars into a story the world needs to hear.
The book that has played the most important role in my development isn’t one I just read—it’s one I wrote. My eBook, Childhood Trauma, is a three-part series that tells the raw, unfiltered story of my life growing up in the trenches of Mobile, Alabama. I witnessed everything—drug dealers on the corners, prostitution in plain sight, gunshots in the night, and betrayal behind closed doors. While my mother partied, I was left to fend for myself like a savage, navigating an environment where chaos was normal. But instead of letting it silence me, I put my pain on the page so others could feel the truth, see the warning, and understand the reality: these stories aren’t just headlines—they could be happening inside your own family.
“My story is not just survival—it’s a message, a mirror, and a movement.”
In the series, I share what it meant to be a naïve teen girl with no guidance, waking up to abuse, surrounded by the wrong influences, and raising two children by the age of seventeen. I could have become bitter, even dangerous, from the anger I carried—but instead, I chose resilience. The wisdom in this book is raw but necessary: trauma is real, it lingers, and if ignored, it can destroy.
“Trauma is real, but it can be transformed.”
By sharing my scars, I’m urging young teens, parents, and communities to pay attention. Protect your children. Watch the environments they’re in. And understand that resilience isn’t about never breaking—it’s about building yourself back stronger, even when the world tried to shatter you.
