We were lucky to catch up with James Barnes recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi James , really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

I had to really take time to get to know myself . We live in a world where acceptance from others often overtakes the acceptance we should have for ourselves. All of our flaws and our best traits are 2 sides of the same coin. Self love is how I found my purpose

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I am a travel photographer. I’ve recently stepped into the real estate field but all in all I am a Swiss-army style photographer for lack of better terminology to describe . I’ve been to London Paris an Italy published for fashion week.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

1. DO WHATEVER IT IS YOU WANT TO DO!

1 explanation- Often times we get caught up in everything we don’t have to get started , when in fact, everything you need is already here. It’s just changing the perspective and starting with what is readily available

2. FOCUS ON YOURSELF
2- Friends Family Peers ETC will give you advice and direction, but only you truly know what makes your heart beat daily

3. NETWORKING
3. Shake hands with everyone
Sort out the good from the bad after

Advise to someone – life is made to evolve and blossom . The cycle of nature isn’t destruction.

Keep a positive mindset and reinvent yourself as much as you can . A rivers water is never stale

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
