Meet James Kojian

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful James Kojian a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

James , so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
I find purpose in what I do. I went to medical school in Illinois. I came back to Los Angeles and I finished my residency and started emergency medicine. After about five years. I also started working in Aesthetics doing Botox and fillers. I currently have a weight loss clinic in Pasadena California. We also do Botox and fillers.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
1. None of us can achieve success without some help along the way. Be open to help. 2. Focus on eating healthy and exercising to maintain a healthy weight.
3. Ensure that you keep your mental health in check to ensure you preform optimally in all areas of your life.

As we end our chat, is there a book or person you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
My Mom was my greatest supporter emotionally and psychologically. But the greatest drive that pushed me to succeed was the fear of being not financially solid because we were very poor. That served as the biggest fire inside of my belly to work harder than all the privileged American children. And I slept in my car, I ate out of trash cans and slept at the Salvation Army home as I was a college student working two jobs. I pushed myself so I could get straight A’s so I could go to medical school. And with the support of my mom and dad, it worked, I got accepted on my first try. I became a doctor at 25 years old.
