Meet James Scott

We recently connected with James Scott and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have James with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
I get my work ethic from my mom. She raised me to never give up no matter what life throws at me, because anything worth having is not going to be easy and pain and struggle is a part of the process.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I started doing music at the age of 14, I started with freestyling and I did that all through highschool. I knew that I always wanted to be involved in music some type of way and freestyling also helped as an outlet for me. I started really taking music serious at the age of 18 and I started to write and develop songs. I was trying to figure out my style and just find myself within the beat and the words. I’m not just a rapper though, I also ghostwrite and I’m trying to get into acting. I’m always performing to perfect my craft and network to build relationships with other people who are like minded. I have a few other things that I want to do as well like launching my clothing line which will be called (Jungle Wear) and starting a few business

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Patience, Humbleness and Understanding are the qualities and skills that were most impactful in my journey. Some people might think that what I just named are all just qualities but they are skills as well. A skill is something that is learned and I learned how to be patient, humble and understanding. It took time true enough but that’s the beauty of life, we learn as we go.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
My parents gave me freedom to find myself and figure out the world on my own. Of course they were there to answer questions and help me along the way but they didn’t spoon feed me I learned about life by actually being able to live it to the best of my ability not someone else’s ability.
