Meet James Wood

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful James Wood. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with James below.

James, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?

My resilience comes from being creative from a young age. Failure is part of creating anything and the first lesson you learn is to learn, experiment, and fail. This has built up my resilience muscle.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

Hello! My name is James Neil Wood. My family calls me Neil which is confusing and should be corrected any day now.
I’m a Philadelphia-based comedian, artist, and designer. I am also the creative behind DropTent.com & Biggest Little Comedy. I started DropTent with a friend to build a network of creatives like myself who wanted to create podcasts, live standup shows, and whatever else we wanted to make.

My career started as a Graphic Designer in 2012 working for my alma mater, Hussian School of Art. I became the Creative Director of Hussian in 2017 after receiving my BFA. I have been a freelance artist since February 2023 and have enjoyed working as a designer, photographer, animator, live-stream producer, and showrunner.

Given my background in multiple visual mediums, both digital and print, I have trouble describing all the ways I can help create something truly special so please check out just some of my work at JamesWoodArt.com
