Jamie, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
I have always had a love for social media and documenting every moment that happens. I have always been that friend that has her phone ready to capture anything and everything. While planning my own wedding in 2023 I, fell in love with everything weddings and came across the wedding content creation world. Upon taking the leap of faith to become a wedding content creator and start my own business, I fell head over heels in love with it! I have been able to combine the two things I love most, social media & love stories, all while having fun doing it!
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
A wedding content creator specializes in capturing authentic, behind-the-scenes moments from weddings and events, focusing on candid footage that highlights the raw emotions and personal details. We also create high-quality, short-form videos tailored for social media, ready to share in 24 hours! There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The three most important qualities that have been most impactful in my journey are first having strong communication skills! Not only with the couple, but also with the vendor team, especially the media team! Having genuine authenticity has also been impactful because the ability to capture genuine, unscripted moments that reflect the unique personalities & emotions of the couple is vital. Lastly, attention to detail plays a key role in capturing meaningful moments that add depth to a wedding day story. If you’re interested in become a wedding content creator, I highly recommend shadowing someone and seeing how they apply these 3 skills to a wedding to learn how to best build your skills.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I would love the opportunity to work with a wedding planner and an event designer by joining their designated team as their dedicated wedding content creator.
