Hi Jamie, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
Motherhood is resilience. As a mom, you are expected to take care of the kids, take care of the house, all while working full time. Do we have to do it all? No, but most of the time we do. The challenges that come with motherhood, the burn outs, the sleep deprivation, changes to our body, our days get longer, and our nights get shorter. We manage those things beautifully while taking care of little humans and taking care of ourselves. I’ve always felt like I had a strong personality prior to motherhood, but now I am softer because of what motherhood has done to me. My mindset has changed from defense mode to being openhearted. I honestly love what motherhood has done for me. All the challenges that come with it has made me be the woman I am today. My kids push me to be better every day.
That’s where my resilience comes from.

My name is Jamie and I am the founder of coolmomsclvb. Coolmomsclvb is a clothing brand that was created by a mom for you. This brand is not just about the clothes, it’s about the community that provides relatable items and conversations that are rarely talked about with Motherhood.
Coolmomsclvb represents and supports mothers, parents, and women in general. My goal is to shed light and show appreciation for all the modern day moms who don’t get the credit that they deserve.
As someone who struggled with post-partum after my youngest was born, I went through it all. I raised my children as a single mom while battling internally and alone. I know firsthand how lonely and tough it could be to take care of others while trying to take care of yourself. I knew how tough that was and I founded this brand to help other moms who are going through the same thing. Motherhood is great, but it is better when there is a village to support you on that journey. Creating this brand is that village, it’s that club that everyone is invited to.
While we are unable to change what happens in life, coolmomsclvb is here to show that you are not alone. Motherhood is about the good, the bad, and the ugly. Yet, it is truly so beautiful. Let go of that mindset that you aren’t doing enough. Let go of the thought that everything has to be perfect. It will never be perfect, but with this club, lets all go through this journey together and to support each other.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Discipline, self-doubt, and patience.
My advice is to stay consistent and have patience. Always work on your craft because most things don’t happen overnight, but the work you put in will eventually show.
And please, do what makes YOU happy. If something makes you truly happy, keep going and don’t give up. You’ve got this!
