Meet Jamie Lynne

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jamie Lynne. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Jamie , thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?

I believe my resilience comes from experiencing loss, learning the lessons, rebuilding, and most importantly, finding gratitude.

In the moment, a loss can be painful. I allow myself to mourn and feel whatever emotions come up. Then I remind myself that in the past, what felt like loss (in business) was actually promoting or protecting me.

With regard to personal loss, such as the passing of someone I love, I do my best to let those moments teach me strength, perspective, and empathy so I can use that wisdom to eventually help others.

With that in mind, I can look back on loss and give it new meaning. I extract the lessons and I can be grateful for them.

Gratitude is my final step to resilience. It’s a bit of a process to get there but once I do, I can take positive action whether that’s getting back up, fighting harder, course correction, letting go, or starting over.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

First and foremost, I am a mom to an amazing 10 year old girl named Ivy.  She is kind, funny, and wise beyond her years.

I was at a crossroads about five years ago. I asked myself, “Do I continue a stable, yet unsatisfying career in Real Estate Development or should I pursue something more aligned with my beliefs and passions?”

Despite being solely responsible for my daughter, I had faith and pursued my passions. In fact, she gave me more strength to do so because I wanted her to see her mom not being afraid to go after what she wanted.

The first step I took was investing in women-owned, plant based restaurants in Los Angeles (Sugar Taco and The Plant Butchers). Once we opened the doors to our second location in 2021, I left Real Estate.

That same year, I started my podcast, “Jamie All Over”. My goal was to create a community and give a platform to diverse and unique voices, especially women. It is on all podcast platforms and the video version airs on Unchained TV, the world’s first vegan streaming network.

I’m excited to be doing a live podcast, for the second year in a row, from The Vegan Women Summit on May 10 in Los Angeles.

To round out the pursuit of my passions, I became a Board Member for a non-profit animal sanctuary in Florida called Little Bear Sanctuary. We have over 200 rescued farm animals and it warms my heart to be able to help animals in this way.

This path that I chose has not been easy and I’m still pursuing more but it’s been worth it. I am proud to be a woman in ethical, eco-conscious businesses. I hope to be an example for other women, but especially for my daughter.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

  1. Be ethical – The sleazy car salesman is a common trope. However, my father was a used car dealer and he was my first example of how anyone can remain ethical, even in an industry with a bad reputation.

He never took advantage of people, always kept his word, and was honest in his dealings. He passed away but I hope he knows how important that example was for me.

  2. Seek to understand in order to be understood – I learned this from the book, “How to Win Friends and Influence People”. It’s especially important now because our world has become so divisive. We don’t always have to agree but if you take the time to understand another person’s point of view, you can usually find common ground, learn something, or see a different perspective. People want to be understood and seen. Be the person to give them that gift and you will be able to connect with them in a meaningful way.
  3. Happiness is service to others – Anytime I’m feeling down, I make it a point to get out of my head and my tiny view of the world by doing something good for someone else or a cause I care about. Whether that’s a beach cleanup, helping a shelter animal get adopted, feeding those in need, or simply checking in on others, I always feel better and can tackle my own issues from a more positive perspective after I am of service.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

I’m always eager to meet and connect with anyone who wants to create, share ideas, be a guest on my podcast, or maybe even start a business together! Feel free to email me at [email protected]or find me on instagram @jamielynneallover
