Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jammed By Nida. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jammed By, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
It’s crazy you asked , I have a tattoo on my leg that says “not easily broken” because it literally takes alot to “break me” . I would say my resilience simply comes from “always going through it” . Of course in the spot light we want to paint a picture that life is mostly peaches and cream but behind the scenes life is throwing darts at you. Believe it or not I always have something going on lol it’s like a balance of crap and prosperity. It’s all about how you handle your situation, how you come out the wilderness still fighting bruised , bleeding and all. Standing Tall. Life will have you resilient if you handle it right. Keep God first , meditate, head up and remain positive even on those bad days. No matter what’s thrown at you , you handle up.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m a Licensed Lash Technician/Educator relocated to the Addison area. Im very versatile, meaning I can do just about any set but I do specialize in volume (drama) lashes. What I feel is most exciting/special about my job is the reaction these ladies give me after their transformation. I’ve had some women tell me I’ve made them feel whole again with the whole pampering experience. That right there is a priceless feeling. Enhancing women’s beauty and confidence , especially with the new service “henna brows” added to the equation . One stop shop . She Jammin Collection has been up and running for a year now going on 2. You can get all of your lash needs at www.jammedbynida.com from lash trays to my infamous Gurr’rilla Gripp Glue. And she Jammin lip glosses.
Not only am I a lash tech but I’ also run a Baking business. That’s right Chef Nida coming in with the sweets for your Saweet Toof. I’ve been making treats for about 3 years now and I’ve finally decided to take it serious. I can do a little bit of everything in the kitchen from customize treat tables , to assorted dipped berries , cakes , puddings . Cookies you name it. Check me out on IG @saweettoof20
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back the most 3 impactful things that helped in my journey would be 1. Patience. Not only with your craft but with your clients as well. You can’t rush a job like this in any area. It’s extremely tedious work and rushing will only lead you in a horrible position.
2. Continuing education. Even after getting certified and going to lash school years later it’s always great to remain teachable. Things and trends change. It’s perfectly fine to sharpen up your skills and knowledge on your craft.
3.Networking. I’m super shy but we have to get out here and collaborate with different individuals to make this happen , period. You have to get out here and mingle in the entrepreneur pool, be sociable.
The #1 best developing advice I can give a up coming artist is to never ever ever give up. No matter what the days are looking like , don’t be discouraged, keep promoting , keep it in they face even when it seem like nobody is paying attention , TRUST ME THEY ARE. E flyers , physical flyers ., stickers , merchandise
Everything. Always protect your brand like it’s big already. Because one day baby it will be.
Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?
My ideal client would be One who reads to understand. One who arrives with exact cash on hand as instructed. A client who stays on top of her fills and don’t pick at her lashes. A client that thinks of her lash tech while she’s grabbing her a quick snack b4 her appointment (not showing up late With Fresh fast food teasing my stomach . 9/10 I haven’t ate all day. Just leave it in the car boo) One who isn’t any later than the grace period.
A tip is always appreciated but never required ..
One who ALWAYS books online and not in my dm asking when I’m available.
My ideal client is one who treats Jammed By Nida as a business and not a hustle.
