Meet Jane Chua

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jane Chua a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Jane, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?

Evaluating issues from multiple perspectives, developing appreciation, and probing my beliefs about life’s importance and purpose will help me critically reflect on my beliefs.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

As a former international artist agent, I effectively transitioned my career during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2019, subsequent to the closure of my talent agency. Having commenced acting in independent films in Washington, D.C. in 2017, I utilized the 2019 lockdown to study cinematography and convert one of my properties into a film studio, acquiring digital cameras and equipment. This resulted in producing several films before relocating to Los Angeles in 2022, where I produced the sci-fi movie ‘Andromeda Wars,’ currently in post-production. To achieve my objective of producing numerous films, I established JCC Studios, a professional film studio. Through unrelenting determination and passion, my vision has become a reality. JCC Studios features a versatile range of movie sets, including futuristic settings inspired by ‘Andromeda Wars,’ and SPACEPORT, with a cutting-edge indoor curved XR virtual production LED screen, the Avalon Hibernation Pod from the movie “Passenger 2016”, spaceship, galaxy store, space hotel, and convertible rooms catering to various production needs, including independent filmmakers, DYI, music video producers, advertisers, and more.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

To succeed as a film producer, one needs strong leadership, communication, collaboration, and financial management skills. They must inspire their team, manage resources, secure funding, and make informed financial decisions while staying current with industry trends and regulations.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

As I continue to expand my film production company in Hollywood, I am seeking forward-thinking investors and collaborators to partner with on my upcoming projects. These include ‘BROOKS’, a groundbreaking female action film telling the story of The Onna-Bugeisha, as well as several sci-fi movies, such as ‘Vrykulactus’, which follows a mysterious virus turning soldiers into vampires, and ‘Psykhe’, a psychological thriller about a serial killer’s escape and the women who must survive him. I have multiple projects ready to shoot, primarily in the action, horror, and sci-fi genres.
