Meet Jane Goto

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jane Goto. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jane below.

Hi Jane, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

I often ask myself “what is my purpose?” and the answer is to entertain. I found my purpose at a young age when I realized how funny I was. I realized anyone can be entertaining to the people around them in a school setting, but how can I entertain more than just the people around me? I wanted to entertain as many people as possible in anyway a 14 year old girl in the middle of Oklahoma could (it wasn’t like I could just drop out of high school and move to LA). That’s when I really got into the world of social media by starting my YouTube channel. My YouTube channel led me to create more on other platforms such as Instagram and Snapchat. From there, it also opened me up to the world of modeling because being in front of the camera has always been my home and confidence has always been one of my best attributes. I believe a smile is the most beautiful thing anyone can wear and I love contributing to that in anyway I’m able. I love being a person that can make someone else laugh, feel seen, or understood whether they’re right in front of me or thousands of miles away. I remember how I would feel when I would watch people on television or online and see how much joy they brought me in moments where I was lonely, sad, or just needed an escape from reality. I always want to be able to pay that forward to others because I know what it did for me.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

You’ve heard of the phrase “Jack of many trades” but I am “Jane of many trades”. I’ve found it’s always nice to dip your toe in different areas rather than having all your eggs in one basket (especially with the uncertainty of careers in entertainment). I am a model, content creator, and entrepreneur. When I’m not in front of the camera, I’m doing work behind it. I have my own small digital marketing agency, Glam Grows Media, which consists of social media management, website design, and online business coaching. The theme these three things have in common is they’re all creative, they help you connect with a community no matter where you are, and allow for confidence. Social media is such a powerful tool that I’ve been able to use for myself and I love being able to help make it a powerful tool for other people as well because humans were made for connection. How beautiful is it that we are able to connect with anyone anywhere at anytime? When it comes to my business, it is my job to turn your virtual vision into a reality.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back I believe confidence, a support system, and trust were super impactful on this journey that I’m still on. Being online tends to skew our real world reality quite a bit. My advice for those starting out is to remember you never know how long it takes someone to get to where they are. We only see the success, we don’t see the amount of mistakes, failures, or rejections those around us have experienced. It’s so hard not to compare yourself to those online and there will be days where you feel so discouraged because putting both yourself and what you love out there for the whole world to see can be challenging sometimes. Keep going. Have the confidence that you are incredible and you deserve what you’re going for. Lean on your support system who will cheer you on in the days you can’t do it for yourself or when you need a little more inspiration. Trust in your idea, trust that it will be okay, and you will get there. Stay consistent. Also rest is just as important as work. You don’t want to burn out too much.

How would you describe your ideal client?

When it comes to my business, my ideal client is anyone who needs help with their online goals. Whether that’s an influencer growing their following, a small business turning followers into paying clients, a creative showcasing their work on a website, or someone who wants to learn those skills for themselves, I’m here to help. My job is to make your virtual vision come to life. All you need is a vision, an idea, and we can go from there. As humans, the best resource we have is each other. I always say building a community is the best thing you can do, so let’s build together. I’m always willing and excited to take on more clients. Go to my website www.glamgrowsmedia.com and let’s get started today. We always start off with a free 30 minutes consultation call, I can’t wait to see you there!
