Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jane Hall. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jane, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
Through many trials and errors! Although I’ve been working since I was 16 yrs old, I’ve had several different jobs and it took a while to find my true calling. Mostly in my adult life, I worked as a Realtor and to be honest, I never really liked it but once you get into something and stay with it, it’s harder to make a big change. Nine years ago, I decided I wanted to do something on my own and started looking at different types of businesses and thinking of what I was good at and what I enjoyed. I have always loved being a wife and mom, organizing, planning and doing things to make other people happy and their lives easier and less stressful….hence, Coastline Concierge was born. Once we really started getting busy (and it took some time), I realized I found what I was looking for in the way of a career/business.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
One great thing about our business is it always interesting! For the most part, we are doing things that help other people who are struggling to keep up with demands in their busy lives or seniors who need extra help. We also manage vacation rentals for owners and that is a huge part of our business. We enjoy giving owners a peace of mind in knowing we are here to help protect their investment and grow their revenue. We would like to continue to grow the rental part of our business as we see a big need in our area. We also offer one-time services and packages for our regular clients. One thing about Concierge services is that people feel they can’t afford it & that’s simply not true! We will work with you and can tailor a package to meet your needs. When you realize how much time you are saving to focus on other things and delegate, you might be saving yourself money!
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Patience/Honesty/Learning and Consistency
Anytime you start something new, it’s scary…no doubt. Also, when you hear the saying about the amount of time it takes to start a business before it starts to be successful and profitable, it’s true. You have to be patient, stick with it and always be honest to yourself and your clients and go the extra mile! It WILL not happen overnight (for the most part).
Oops, I guess that’s four things!
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
We are always looking for ways to get the word out about our business and what we offer. Because we offer such a variety of services, we always need vetted vendors. For example: property management-we need plumbers, appliance repair, painters, etc. For events: florists, caterer’s, wedding services
Relocation services: movers, cleaners
