Meet Janelle Orion

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Janelle Orion. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Janelle , thank you so much for joining us and offering your lessons and wisdom for our readers. One of the things we most admire about you is your generosity and so we’d love if you could talk to us about where you think your generosity comes from.

My generosity comes from my parents. They were a former Catholic Nun and Priest and truly lived a life of service to others. Their generosity came from their heart. Sometimes they gave money, but more often than not their generosity was with their time and attention. I received that from them as their child, and I witnessed them give that to others all the time.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

The core value of the Janelle Orion brand is leading people to joy. And I’m a stand for normalizing the need for education and skills in the areas of pleasure and intimacy so we can have more fulfilling relationships.

I do that through a variety of ways: I co-host a podcast; Permission to be Human: Learning to be Brave in Relationships, hosting community events at The Goddess Temple, and I work with people 1:1 as an Erotic Wellness Pracitioner.

On the Permission to be Human podcast, my co-host Andrea Enright and I talk about taboo topics regarding pleasure, intimacy, relationships, marriage and divorce. We call our listeners Bravehearts: people seeking or have found the courage to confront their fears and limiting believes about breaking societal norms. The podcast gives them permission to come home to themselves and feel less alone along the way.

The Goddess Temple exists to serve as a sanctuary for deep spiritual connection, healing, and community in a time when many feel isolated, disconnected, or overwhelmed. It also serves as the home for the Church of Witness Sisterhood. Our mission is to create a nurturing sacred space where people can return home to themselves. Ritual and Ceremony are used to honor inner healing journeys, and support a sense of belonging. We host monthly events.

And through my company Feel Wildly Alive, I offer touch-based pleaure and intimacy experiences for couples and individuals who feel stuck in their relationships and want to feel more alive.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

At the core, the most impactful lessons from my journey were
1- learning to listen to my body,
2- trusting and value what it had to say
3- communicating what it said

It seems simple, but it required a tremendous amount of unlearning.
The book I recommend to all my friends and clients is The Art of Receiving and Giving, by Betty Martin. It teaches these foundational skills that completely changed how I relate to myself and others.

Tell us what your ideal client would be like?

So many people are in relationships where they love each other, but something feels unfulfilling. My clients are often middle-age, with kids older or out of the house, and they are suddenly thinking about their sex life. They are in a loving relationship where everything else is great EXCEPT in the bedroom.

The most common causes of a sexless marriage (sex <10 year) include: --Hurt feelings between partners --Communication problems --Being too busy or neglectful --Health issues and medication side effects --Lack of understanding about physical intimacy Many couples find discussing sex to be one of the least discussed and most difficult topics in relationships. My clients are people who are ready to invest in their relationship in a new way, and willing to take the vulnerable step of asking an intimacy expert for help.
