Meet Janelle Taylor

We were lucky to catch up with Janelle Taylor recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Janelle, so great to have you on the platform. There’s so much we want to ask you, but let’s start with the topic of self-care. Do you do anything for self-care and if so, do you think it’s had a meaningful impact on your effectiveness?

I love having my alone time each morning enjoying my tea and starting my meditation, reading, journaling and light stretching. As I have created a routine that works for me it has brought so much clarity, love and support into my daily life! I believe we all need to find that special place within us that connects us directly to source. Having this connections allows me to have a deep love and understanding to those I serve so they too can feel they are enough and loved.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I have been a hair dresser in Utah for over 20 years. I love my job! I have always loved helping people feel good about their hair. Over the years I found that making people feel good about their outer appearance was only a reflection of who they were on the inside. And that’s why it feels so good when you get your hair done, because it shows you the beauty that lies within.

In 2017 I left the salon world and opened my own place, iAm Beauty LLC so I could focus on my hair washes, where I believe opens that beauty within. I soon created a meditative wash that my guests can add on to the hair services, or just come for a wash! I use essential oils, heated blanket and heated towels to create a safe and relaxing space as I massage their scalp and neck. I also use a gently touch on the chakras to support that guest in their journey of discovering their beauty and releasing of anything that no longer serves their higher good. We all could agree that the hair wash is one of the best parts of getting your hair done! A meditative wash has been so healing for many of my guests.

As I have had successes in supporting my guests in this new way of seeing themselves it has lead me to create 8 beautifiers to support a person in finding their inner beauty and creating a life style that will bring more beauty into their lives. These will be taught in my mentoring program called, Becoming Beautified, where you will learn each of the beautifiers and how to implement them into your daily life. I will be launching my program this year, 2025! I’m very excited to share what I have personally learned about the beauty within each of us. If you take that journey within you too will discover just how beautiful you are!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Great question! I would say for me it would be:
Meditation
Gratitude
And following my intuition
Have been the most impactful in my journey.

The advice I would give is to be gentle with yourself, it’s ok to take baby steps. It is ok to fall and get back up again. When I first started meditating I fell asleep every time, for a year!! I thought about giving up and chose to keep going and now that is the greatest blessing in my life! So no matter what you are working on don’t give up, keep trying, you can do it! Each day we get to start again and that’s such a great thing to have. Each day we get to choose to improve. So take in a deep breath and exhale…. You did it! Just being aware of your breath is a form of meditation.

Each day write 3 things you are grateful for and why? (The why is key) By doing this you energetically bring more happiness, more joy and more love into your mind, body and soul. If you can’t do 3 start with 1 and work up to more. We can always find something to be grateful for.

Listen to your heart, it always knows the way. Intuition is the whispers of the heart and no one persons is the same. So trust what feels good in your heart and you will find the right path for you!

Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?

I absolutely love reading books that will help me become a better person. I think we are always expanding into more! I have so many books that have been so impactful in my life that it’s hard to just choose one! So I guess I will go with my most recent book I read.

The Wealth Money Can’t Buy
By Robin Sharma

I learned that there are so many areas in our life that we can have wealth. I loved how his writing was so personable and you real could feel that he meant it when he said you were his friend. It’s hard to put into words the feeling I felt as I read the truth he wrote so beautifully. The connection I had. I guess it could be because they were the words and beliefs of my own heart. The biggest take away for me was life isn’t about making all the money, there are so many other things that bring us wealth and to be open to them,
