We recently connected with Janessa, Isabella, Ashley Vicenty, Ramirez, Casillas and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Janessa, Isabella, Ashley, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
At Girls on the Go, we found our purpose through a shared passion for connection and community. As recent post-grads, we felt the need to channel our energy into something meaningful, especially since building long-term friendships in San Diego can be challenging—even for those of us who call it home. Being best friends ourselves, it felt natural and exciting to host events together, creating a space where genuine friendships could flourish.
We each play into our roles seamlessly, bringing different strengths and perspectives that make Girls on the Go a vibrant, welcoming community. Our purpose became clear as we saw the power of bringing women together—not just for fun activities, but for moments of growth, support, and empowerment.
Each event we host reinforces our purpose: to offer a community where women feel inspired, supported, and excited to try new things together. Through Girls on the Go, we aim to make every woman feel like she belongs and has a place to thrive.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
At Girls on the Go, we’re all about building community, adventure, and meaningful connections for women here in San Diego. We started as a small group of best friends who wanted to create more spaces where women could come together, try new experiences, and make lasting friendships. What began as a few informal meetups quickly grew into a thriving community of women eager to connect, explore, and support each other. Today, Girls on the Go offers a variety of events, from wellness activities and sunset beach walks to creative nights out and local volunteer projects.
What we feel is most exciting about Girls on the Go is the diversity of experiences we offer. There’s truly something for everyone—whether you’re looking for a peaceful yoga session, an art-filled afternoon, or a social gathering where you can meet new friends and bond over shared passions. Our events are designed to help women step out of their comfort zones, try new things, and leave feeling inspired and refreshed.
We’re also excited about some upcoming initiatives! In early 2025, we’ll be collaborating with Luxx Wellness & Beauty for an IV therapy event to kick off the new year after festival season. We’re also gearing up for new wellness and creativity-centered meetups, and expanding our partnerships with local brands to bring even more unique experiences to our members.
We’re so grateful for the support and interest from everyone who’s been part of this journey with us. Girls on the Go has become more than just a group—it’s a lifestyle and a growing network of women committed to supporting each other and enjoying everything San Diego has to offer. We can’t wait to continue growing, connecting, and empowering more women in our community!
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Reflecting on our journey with Girls on the Go, three qualities that have been crucial to our growth are community-building, creativity, and adaptability.
Community-Building: Cultivating a supportive community has been the foundation of Girls on the Go. For anyone starting out, focus on building genuine relationships and prioritize listening to the needs of your audience. It’s so important to create spaces that feel inclusive and welcoming. Engaging authentically and showing genuine interest in the people you’re connecting with goes a long way.
Creativity: We’re constantly thinking of new, exciting ways to bring women together, whether it’s a wellness event, art night, or outdoor adventure. Creativity keeps things fresh and encourages us to think beyond typical social events. For those beginning their journey, lean into what makes your brand unique and explore how you can bring fresh experiences or perspectives. Stay curious and don’t be afraid to try new ideas!
Adaptability: Every event brings its own challenges, and learning to adapt quickly has been essential. Being open to change, and sometimes embracing the unexpected, has helped us grow and improve over time. For anyone early in their journey, embrace flexibility, and remember that adaptability is key to sustainable growth.
Our advice to anyone just starting out: stay true to your purpose, build authentic connections, and keep exploring new ideas. Each of these qualities will shape you and help you grow with resilience and intention
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Absolutely, Girls on the Go is always looking to collaborate with like-minded individuals and brands! We’re particularly interested in partnering with local businesses, wellness professionals, creative artists, and event spaces that align with our mission of empowering women, fostering connection, and promoting personal growth. Whether it’s co-hosting an event, launching a community initiative, or working together on a new experience for our members, we love finding creative ways to bring value to our community.
