We recently connected with Janet and have shared our conversation below.
Janet, so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.
Stay curious about everything in life. Even the most mundane things are interesting if you’re willing to look at every situation from a different perspective.
I stay open minded about everything. By doing so I allow myself to change my mind as new information is available. I don’t become fixated on what I might think the way things are or should be.
Seek out new ideas, experiences and insights to continue to grow.
Keep your eyes open. Listen to what’s going on around you and in the world. Don’t become attached to what’s going on in the world. Just be aware of what’s going on.
Question everything.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
1. your purpose?
I have always known my purpose in life since I was very young. As a child, animals would come close to me and I knew intuitively to use my hands to transfer energy to the animal. I was too young at the time to know what I was doing or why I was using my hands in that manner. I began to realize that I was to use my hands in healing, but was still too young to know what to do with my hands and the energy I felt in them.
As I grew older, I would know that certain things were going to happen before the event would occur. When I was in high school, I warned a boyfriend to go straight home when he left my house one night. A week before I knew he would be in a car wreck and injured. He didn’t go home, but, instead, went to pick up his buddy and went driving until early morning. After dropping off his friend, he headed home and fell asleep at the wheel. He broke his jaw in three places and broke his back. He wasn’t able to attend Annapolis that fall. I’ve had many types of “knowing” all my life. I knew from the time I was ten years old I would raise four children, but I wouldn’t give birth to any of them. I also knew I would be married twice.
I could see places in my mind’s eye before I reached the location. Places I had never been to or had any knowledge about would be just as I saw it in my mind. I didn’t know that I was doing Remote Viewing. It was years later that I learned what it was called.
I would see past lives when I was asleep and dreaming. However, being a child I just thought it was a dream. After I was trained in hypnosis, I learned what I saw in dreams was actually my past lives. I saw the same images while in trance for past life training that I saw as a child.
I could see a glow around people at times. Later in life I learned I was seeing individuals auras. At this point in life, I can see colors in the auras at times.
My gifts begin to develop more with time, but I didn’t have support in learning more about what my abilities were and how to use them. I was told by my mother that I couldn’t do those things because they were from the “devil”. So, I shut down my gifts.
I always felt like I was on the outside looking in. I never felt like I was apart of this existence. I remember flying in my dreams. I never felt like there was a limitation as to how high I could fly. I later learned that I was astral traveling. Visitations were made to other places and I would see people, but again I was on the outside looking in. Now, I know I was visiting parallel dimensions.
The summer between my junior year and senior year in high school, I went to work at an arthritic hospital. I thought I wanted to be a Physical Therapist. I couldn’t get on in the physical therapy department, but was hired to work as a nursing assistant. I worked on the pediatric floor. It was during this time I realized I was supposed to go into nursing. My practice as a healer began that summer.
The next spring after I graduated from high school, I went into nursing. I started my nursing career after graduating License Practical Nursing school at the age of nineteen. As time progressed, I earned my degree as a Registered Nurse, then a Bachelor in Nursing, next I earned a Master’s in Healthcare Administration, and finally a Ph.D. in Natural Health. I spent two weeks in California learning hypnosis. I have certifications in several areas of hypnosis. Interesting thing is I was told I was not college material. I graduated with honors in each degree. Along the way I earned a Bachelor in Metaphysical Science.
Truth be told, I’m still finding my purpose so to speak. My knowledge has grown through the years and my practice and interest have grown and changed throughout the years. If we allow our intuition to grow, we continue to evolve. Our purpose expands and will take us to new heights if we allow growth to take place.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I think perseverance and the determination not to give up. We all hit the “glass ceiling” and are tempted to give up, but instead, take a deep breath and refocus on your goal.
DO NOT compare yourself to others. Your journey is just that, yours and no one else’s journey is like yours. Don’t talk about your plans to others because they will be a negative influence on your goals.
Read and research your topic of interest. Expand your area of interest to include totally different topics. It will amaze you how completely different subject matter can tie back into the interest you already have.
But, most of all learn to trust yourself.
Currently, my focus is looking “within”. The greatest lie that we are told is that we have to look for answers on the “outside”. This is not true. Religion teaches us that we have to have a priest, minister or rabbi, a spiritual leader if you will, to tell us what we need to know and do to connect to our God/Higher Source. The answers we seek are not found by looking to others to give us the answers. In spirituality, the answers are found within.
Everyone has the ability to hear, see and know more than what this 3D existence offers. We are all born with the same gifts. The difference is that some recognize the abilities they have and embrace this part of their lives and grow in the knowledge and practice of these gifts.
Another area, of focus is my blog, mindbodyconnectionhypnosis.com. (I recently deleted the website due to the web host messing up my blog with their updates.)This blog came about after I was hit by a semi-truck and was recovering from Traumatic Brain Injury. I had migraines at least three times a week and headaches daily for three years. During this time I managed the pain with self hypnosis. Medicine had nothing to offer me in pain relief. My medical career was over because of the migraines and headaches. By “going within”, I was eventually able to resolve the TBI issues.
I had made a vision board years ago. I envisioned speaking to larger audiences and had pictures to represent this on my vision board. After I created my blog and began to write, I was amazed that anyone was reading it. I was writing for myself to have a creative outlet. I had close to 15,000 readers coming to my blog. Small following, I know, but it wasn’t about having a large following.
Since I deleted my blog, I’ve turned my attention to writing my second book. Deleting my blog is an example of not being “stuck” in what you are doing in life. Listen to your inner wisdom and trust it. The blog served its purpose and now I’m being guided to take a new direction.
My Ph.D. in Natural Health consist of training in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda, Natural Health, and Homeopath Medicine. With my hypnosis practice, I’m able to teach people better health practices. I earned my degree in Natural Health out of self preservation. I worked in Western Medicine, but after I had my second anaphylaxis shock due to allergic reaction to medications that were prescribed for surgery in the first case and for an infection in the second case, I turned to natural healing solutions.
I was fortunate to be able to incorporate both medical practices together during my medical career. The doctor I worked with at the Veterans Administration Medical Center encouraged me to educate the veterans on natural health care. He was the one who told my patients about my doctorate. I was shocked the first time a patient greeted me with “Hi, doc!”. I asked him how he knew about my degree and he responded, “Kip (the doctor I worked with) told me.”
Unfortunately I was not able to use my hypnosis while working in western medicine. The reason being, they couldn’t figure out how to bill for it. That’s really sad that in medicine money is the big driver of health care.
While I was recovering from my TBI, I also wrote a book called Guilty Prayers by Janet Lynas. I write under my maiden name. This book is based on true stories about individuals who struggled with emotions that got out of hand and what they did to regain control of their lives.
Everything on the vision board has manifested.
Another area of focus is my hypnosis practice. I don’t advertise my practice and yet the people who need my services find me. I tend to have women coming to me seeking help in getting over sever trauma. This trauma is from rape, being kidnapped, and one from her husband trying to murder her. I have had women come from out of state for my services. I am honored to be able to help them. When an individual comes to me for hypnosis for a traumatic event, they are extremely stressed. When they leave after the hour long session, they are relieved and feeling better. So far, one session is all that was needed for each of my clients. This is very rewarding for me to be able to people. I teach my clients to do self hypnosis also.

What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?
