We recently connected with Janet Nwachukwu and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Janet , thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
I would say I get my work ethic from my parents. My parents are the inspiration behind my hard work, and I wouldn’t be the person I am today without the sacrifices that they have made and continue to make for me. Leaving home at such a young age forced me to grow up quickly and stand on my own even when I didn’t know how to. My work ethic comes from the wisdom my parents instilled in me, the challenges I’ve faced, and the experiences I’ve encountered on the journey called life. Everyday is a lesson and my goal is to become better each day.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
JÁYNWACH Collection is me. It embodies everything I represent and everything I believe in, it is my baby. The name is derived from my name, a name given to me by my parents, meaning God’s gracious gift.
JÁYNWACH Collection is an exclusive online luxury fashion collection. We are more than just a brand, we are a movement. Our mission is to promote self-love and confidence in all our pieces through all our customers. We want our customers to love themselves in all our pieces.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Three qualities that were most impactful in my journey were persistence, hard work, and positivity. The journey is forever on-going, and sometimes it’s easy to lose sight of the end-goal and get discouraged so, persistence has always helped me keep going and hard work is the reason I am where I am today.
If I was to give any advice to anyone early in their journey, I would tell them to be persistent, work hard and stay positive. As my mother would always tell me “Roman was not built in a day,” and everything worth it takes time.
Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
God. If there is anything I have learned over the past couple of years, it is never put the power of God into another man’s hands. There’s nothing another human being on this earth can do for me that God cannot do. I lean on Him. My family, both blood and friends that have became family are my biggest supporters, and have been present for my throughout my journey but when times are hard, the only person that could bring me everlasting peace is God.
