Meet Janice Debo

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Janice Debo a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Janice, we are so happy that our community is going to have a chance to learn more about you, your story and hopefully even take in some of the lessons you’ve learned along the way. Let’s start with self-care – what do you do for self-care and has it had any impact on your effectiveness?

I spend a great deal of time in meditation and journaling. It has had an enormous impact by taking time for me and doing the much needed self-reflection in order to be there for others.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I’m Janice Debo, and my passion lies in helping people and businesses rise—stronger, clearer, and more confident than before. My journey has been one of transformation—both personal and professional. I know what it’s like to rebuild from the inside out, to face uncertainty, and to discover that clarity and confidence can change everything.
That’s why I founded Janice Debo Personal Development, Training & Coaching—a space where individuals and teams can realign with purpose, rediscover their strengths, and step into their potential. Through transformational coaching, Path Elements Frameworks, and communication workshops, I help clients break through self-doubt, build resilience, and create meaningful connections that support lasting growth.
But my story doesn’t stop there. I’m also deeply rooted in community and collaboration—partnering with local businesses in Central Oregon to help them thrive through powerful storytelling, marketing, and brand clarity. Whether it’s empowering a team through better communication or helping a business tell its story with heart, my focus is always the same: transformation through connection. In addition, I use my Courage Confidence and Connections Podcast as a stage to help others tell their story.
What excites me most is watching people light up when things finally “click”—when confidence replaces confusion, and when alignment brings results that feel authentic and sustainable. My brand is built on that magic moment: when someone finally sees what’s possible and takes the next step toward it.
✨ Courage, Confidence and Connections!
That’s not just my motto—it’s my mission.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

I would say all my sales and marketing training and experience were strategic and vital in my journey, not to rule out overall life experience. If folks want to grow, find a coach, a mentor, a guide and take time to read and learn as well as journaling and taking time to reflect on you and where you want to go. in your life and business.

We’ve all got limited resources, time, energy, focus etc – so if you had to choose between going all in on your strengths or working on areas where you aren’t as strong, what would you choose?

This is one of my favorite topics. I ask all my clients to fill in a worksheet at the start of our coaching journey called 10 strengths and 10 weaknesses. It is a consistent issue that most of them have no trouble finding their weaknesses but struggle to see their strengths. In my experience it is very important to acknowledge both equally so as to improve in the weak areas of our lives. This actually helps to become even stronger in our strengths by observing both.
