We recently connected with Janina Vallon and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Janina, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

My work ethic comes from my father, Jean, a Haitian immigrant with a dream. Jean grew up in a small village in Haiti, facing countless challenges and limited opportunities. Despite these obstacles, he dreamed of a better future in America. He left everything behind and navigated the complexities of immigration, taking on multiple jobs and working long hours to build a stable life for our family. His days started before dawn and ended late at night, yet he never complained, and always focused on his goal.
My father’s determination and relentless hard work paid off as he built a solid foundation for us. He bought a small house, ensured we had access to a good education, and constantly reminded us that with dedication, anything is possible. From him, I learned that true work ethic is about resilience, sacrifice, and unwavering belief in one’s dreams. His journey from a small Haitian village to a thriving life in America inspires me to pursue my goals with the same relentless spirit.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I’m a writer, screenwriter, and model with a passion for helping people change their lives. What excites me most about my work is the profound impact stories can have on individuals. There’s nothing quite like watching someone’s eyes light up when they realize a piece of advice or a story resonates with them deeply, sparking a desire for change.
Growing up, I was always captivated by the power of storytelling. Whether it was through books, movies, or fashion, I found that stories had the unique ability to transport people, inspire them, and even transform their outlook on life. This fascination led me to pursue a career where I could weave my narratives and share them with the world.
My YouTube channel is a special project close to my heart. Through it, my Co-host and I share my journey and insights on personal growth, motivation, and the transformative power of storytelling. I love connecting with my audience, hearing their stories, and offering guidance that can help them navigate their paths. Seeing someone take a step towards a better life because of something I shared is incredibly fulfilling.

This year is especially fascinating, as I’m working on several new projects that align with my mission to inspire, educate, and empower. I’m thrilled to announce the upcoming release of my new screenplays that delve into themes of esoterism, resilience, and transformation. Additionally, I have a few special events and collaborations in the works that I can’t wait to share with you all but it will be on my Instagram page @JaninaVallon. There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back on my journey, three qualities that have been most impactful in shaping my path were expressing my creativity, being open-minded, and overcoming my fear of being seen. In the beginning, the fear of being seen was my greatest hurdle. Growing up, I was always creating—writing stories, imagining characters, and dreaming of sharing them with the world. But the idea of actually putting myself out there was terrifying. I remember the first time I shared a piece of my writing with a small group of friends. My heart raced, and I felt exposed. Yet, their positive feedback and encouragement gave me the confidence to take more significant steps. Over time, I began to embrace the spotlight. I learned that vulnerability is a strength, not a weakness and that sharing my work could inspire and connect with others. Each time I pushed past that fear, I grew more comfortable in my skin, allowing my true self to shine through in everything I did.
Creativity has always been my lifeline. Creativity, my constant companion, has been the lifeline of my existence. As a writer, screenwriter, and model, it pulses through everything I do. I remember nights spent lost in the whirl of ideas, scribbling furiously into the early hours, breathing life into characters on the page. The thrill of experimenting with new looks, and the joy of discovering unexpected combinations, these moments were my playground. Creativity, for me, is a dance of exploration and risk. It’s about daring to fail, embracing the unknown, and constantly seeking inspiration from the world around me. Art, literature, travel, and the myriad stories of diverse lives—all feed my imagination, pushing me to transcend the boundaries of my mind
Being open-minded became a cornerstone of my journey through meaningful conversations and eye-opening experiences. Early on, a mentor’s probing questions sparked my curiosity and humbled me, planting seeds of growth. As a Haitian American, I discovered that embracing diverse cultural perspectives painted my world with richer hues. Since then, I’ve eagerly sought diverse viewpoints, connecting threads of humanity with individuals from all walks of life. Immersing myself in books and stories that challenged my beliefs became a pathway to expanding my understanding of the world’s tapestry. This openness has not only enriched my experiences but also stirred unexpected winds of opportunity, weaving deeper connections into the fabric of my journey.
For those embarking on their journey, I encourage the thrill of stepping beyond comfort zones with courage, nurturing creativity through boundless exploration, and embracing open-mindedness by seeking diverse perspectives! These principles have been my compass, guiding me towards a life filled with meaning and impact, where every challenge ignites growth and every experience weaves a new richness into our ever-evolving story.

“The Power of Now” and “The Alchemist” have been like ancient maps guiding my journey as a creator revealing hidden paths of wisdom that resonate deeply within me. When I first immersed myself in Eckhart Tolle’s “The Power of Now,” its profound message of embracing the present moment felt like a gentle awakening amidst the chaotic rhythm of life. Tolle’s insights into the transformative power of mindfulness and inner stillness taught me to find solace in the now, freeing my creativity to flourish and infusing my writing and modeling with newfound depth and clarity.
Paulo Coelho’s “The Alchemist,” with its tale of Santiago, the shepherd boy, embarking on a quest for treasure, spoke directly to my soul as both a creator and a seeker of truth. Through Santiago’s journey, Coelho wove a narrative tapestry rich with wisdom about following one’s dreams, overcoming fears, and discovering the true treasures of the heart. The idea that our personal legends are waiting to be fulfilled and that each step of the journey is a lesson in self-discovery and growth resonated deeply with me. It has inspired me to approach my writing and modeling not just as professions, but as sacred paths of exploration and expression.
These books continue to be my guiding stars, illuminating the way forward with their timeless lessons of courage, mindfulness, and faith. They have shaped not only my creative endeavors but also how I navigate life’s challenges, cultivate inner peace, and embrace the beauty of each moment. As I weave their wisdom into my journey, I am reminded that true fulfillment lies not just in achieving goals, but in the profound transformation that occurs along the way, enriching my writing and modeling with authenticity, depth, and purpose.
