Meet Janine Cascio

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Janine Cascio a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Janine with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?

I was raised with a strong competitive spirit. Engaging in soccer from childhood through my college years at Philadelphia University I had to balance academics and sports which taught me invaluable lessons related to time management, collaboration, and discipline. Coming from a large Italian family, I was surrounded by influential personalities that contributed to shaping my exceptional work ethic.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I am originally from New York and began my career as a loan officer at a bank in NYC. Taking a leap of faith two years ago, I ventured into starting my own company. Approaching our second anniversary this August, I now lead a team consisting of 8 amazing and hard working individuals. I firmly believe in self-trust and breaking boundaries – with determination, any goal can be reached.
My ambition is to become the most trusted private lender in America for investment properties across the country. As a woman in a predominantly male-dominated industry, I have cultivated a welcoming environment where women feel secure and encouraged to pursue careers in finance. I have fostered an inclusive atmosphere that welcomes everyone, aiming to redefine the typical image of a financial advisor. We are excited to announce that we will be hosting a 2-year anniversary party this August. We look forward to celebrating this milestone with all those who have supported us along this journey.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

1. Interpersonal Skills: The key to my success lies in my capacity to establish enduring connections. Whether it involves working closely with coworkers or grasping client requirements, prioritizing customer experience has consistently been my primary concern. This proficiency has enabled me to adeptly handle diverse scenarios and guarantee customer contentment.

2. Adaptability: These are two of the most valuable skills in today’s rapidly evolving world. Adaptability allows individuals to adjust to new conditions and overcome challenges with resilience and creativity. Fast learning, on the other hand, empowers me to quickly assimilate new information and apply it effectively. Together, these skills enable me to thrive in dynamic environments, whether in personal settings or professionally. Embracing change, staying curious, and continuously seeking knowledge are key components that foster both adaptability and fast learning.

3. Dedication and Reliability: Dedication and reliability have played a crucial role in my achievements. I am deeply committed to delivering exceptional experiences consistently and continually push myself to excel in my responsibilities. This dedication has not only enabled me to reach my objectives but also establish trust with both clients and my employees.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?

I recently started exploring “The Magic of Thinking Big” by David J. Schwartz. This remarkable book sheds light on the self-defeating thoughts individuals commonly face when confronted with difficulties. The book’s key takeaway stresses the significance of self-belief, transforming obstacles into achievements, and nurturing a positive outlook. It emphasizes that success is not solely dependent on talent or intelligence but is largely influenced by the mindset one adopts. Schwartz offers practical advice and actionable steps to cultivate this powerful mindset, encouraging readers to set lofty goals and visualize their attainment.
