We recently connected with Janna Fackrell and have shared our conversation below.
Janna, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
While in Los Angeles, I immersed myself in acting gigs and any odd jobs to make ends meet, resorting to paying rent with my credit card. Unknowingly, I fell in with the wrong crowd, finding myself entangled in some murky situations. Before I knew it, I was under the control of the mob. I became a victim of sex trafficking right in broad daylight. Feeling trapped, I struggled to break free from this situation that was now my life. Enduring a year and a half of torment took a heavy toll on my spirit. My light wasn’t just dim; it was completely extinguished as I hit rock bottom. Realizing the need for change, I made a pivotal decision while scrubbing away sins in the shower. I resolved to take charge of who I allowed into my inner circle and how I spent my time. Changing my number, relocating, and seeking solace in prayer marked the dawn of my spiritual awakening. Embracing church, receiving baptism anew, and delving into profound spiritual exploration, I embarked on a transformative journey. Attending my first ayahuasca retreat was a turning point. Life divided into before and after the ceremony; the experience unveiled a new reality in the most profound way; the veil had been lifted. It’s like the matrix, once you take the pill there’s no going back. This awakening spurred me to host retreats, engage in energy healing, yoga, and sound therapy. Eventually, my path intertwined with that of my husband, leading us to establish a retreat center in Kansas City where we now live. My entire world is now centered around helping people find their light.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
As a Light Worker, my mission is to guide you towards discovering the light within yourself. I co-founded Sacred Hearts Healing, a non-profit retreat center near Kansas City. Our offerings include healing, teaching, yoga, breathwork, sound baths, online coaching, sacred ceremonies, and retreats both locally and internationally.
Sacred Hearts Healing, a 508c1a non-profit organization, operates under divine law. Our purpose is to share native and shamanic wisdom with Veterans at no cost, helping them reignite the sacred flame in their hearts through transformative practices like neurofeedback, sweat lodges, individual healing sessions, and empowering week-long retreats facilitated by Dr. Joe Dispenza.
For the past seven years, I’ve dedicated myself not only to our retreat center but also to my skincare venture, illuminessence organics. Founded in 2017 after learning that Europe had banned 1,328 cosmetic chemicals compared to the U.S.’s mere 30, I was shocked. This led me and my dermatologist husband to create a clean, effective, and affordable skincare line. We are currently in the process of selling the company to focus entirely on Sacred Hearts. If you’re interested, please get in touch.
My favorite part about what I do is watching people find the light within themselves again. Watching them come back to their soul remembering. What a gift and honor it is to witness this magic.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Challenges faced inevitably transform into valuable lessons or unexpected blessings. Reflecting on my encounter with adversity, I now perceive it as a pivotal moment in my growth. Amidst the turmoil, such insight would have been unimaginable. Yet, it sculpted me into the resilient, audacious woman I stand as today. NYC nurtured my street smarts and honed unique skills during my college years, while a decade in Los Angeles gifted me with unwavering fortitude and resilience to persevere.
For those just starting your journey, remember this is just the beginning. There is so much more to come. Lessons, blessings and everything in between. I heard this affirmation and it’s stuck with me, ‘The better it gets, the better it gets. The best is yet to come.’
Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
My parents didn’t hand us everything; they instilled the value of hard work. During high school, I held a job, purchased my first car, and then funded my college education. Daily chores were a norm growing up, a task I resented then but now appreciate as it taught me self-sufficiency and independence. I cherish my upbringing in upstate NY’s countryside.
