We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jaquita Rideaux a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Jaquita , so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
Finding my purpose wasn’t an instant revelation—it was a journey shaped by moments of doubt, discovery, and growth. It began during a time when I felt lost, unsure of what direction to take in life. I tried different paths, from pursuing traditional career goals to exploring hobbies and side hustles, but nothing seemed to ignite that deep sense of fulfillment I was searching for.
One pivotal moment came when I helped a close friend navigate a challenge. They were overwhelmed, struggling to stay organized and motivated, and I offered to create a step-by-step plan to get them back on track. As I guided them through the process, I realized how natural it felt to break complex problems into manageable steps, motivate someone to believe in themselves, and celebrate their progress along the way. When my friend looked at me with relief and gratitude, something clicked: I loved helping people move forward in life.
From that moment, I began seeking opportunities to apply this skill on a larger scale. I volunteered to mentor others, took on leadership roles at work, and even started sharing my strategies with family and friends. Over time, I realized that my purpose was tied to empowering others—to help them unlock their potential, overcome obstacles, and take control of their own success.
The journey wasn’t always easy. I had to overcome self-doubt, learn to trust my instincts, and understand that my impact didn’t have to be grand to be meaningful. But with each person I helped, my confidence grew, and so did my clarity about what I was meant to do.
Finding my purpose taught me that it’s not about a single moment of clarity—it’s about listening to what energizes you, embracing the challenges that shape you, and choosing to pursue what feels meaningful every day. That’s how I found mine, and I wake up grateful for it every day.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m passionate about helping people take control of their opportunities and build a better future through education, empowerment, and actionable strategies. As the creator of a self-paced course focused on fostering personal growth and stability, I guide individuals through processes that allow them to navigate challenges, overcome barriers, and unlock their potential—all at their own pace.
What excites me most about this work is seeing the transformation in people as they realize they have the tools to create change. It’s incredibly rewarding to know that the resources and guidance I provide can spark confidence, clarity, and momentum for my clients.
What sets my approach apart is its accessibility and flexibility. I understand that everyone’s journey is unique, so I’ve designed my program to be practical, easy to follow, and tailored to a wide range of situations. It’s not just about short-term solutions—it’s about building habits and skills that last a lifetime.
Looking ahead, I’m thrilled to share that my new self-paced course will officially launch this Black Friday! It’s a comprehensive step-by-step program designed to empower individuals with the knowledge and tools they need to overcome obstacles and build a solid foundation for growth. I’m also planning expansions to include live workshops and one-on-one coaching sessions to provide even more personalized support.
I’d love for readers to know that my brand is about more than just education—it’s about transformation. Whether you’re taking the first step or looking for the next level, my mission is to walk alongside you on that journey and help you achieve your goals.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, three qualities have been most impactful in my journey: resilience, adaptability, and a commitment to lifelong learning. Each of these played a vital role in helping me navigate challenges, grow from setbacks, and pursue my goals with purpose.
Resilience
Life is full of unexpected hurdles, and resilience has been my anchor through difficult times. I learned to see challenges as opportunities for growth rather than roadblocks. The key to developing resilience is to embrace failure as a teacher. Reflect on what went wrong, learn from it, and keep moving forward. Building a strong support system—whether friends, mentors, or like-minded peers—can also help you stay grounded during tough times.
Adaptability
The world is constantly changing, and so are the opportunities within it. Adaptability has allowed me to pivot when plans didn’t go as expected and to find creative solutions to new problems. To improve this skill, stay curious and open to new experiences. Try stepping out of your comfort zone regularly, whether by learning a new skill, tackling a different type of project, or simply approaching a situation with a fresh perspective.
Lifelong Learning
Knowledge has been the foundation of my growth. Staying committed to learning—whether through courses, books, or real-world experience—has helped me stay ahead and remain confident in my abilities. For anyone early in their journey, my advice is to adopt a growth mindset. Look for opportunities to learn from every experience, invest time in developing your expertise, and stay updated on trends or skills relevant to your field.
Advice for Those Starting Out
Be patient with yourself. Growth takes time, and it’s okay to not have everything figured out right away.
Set small, achievable goals. They’ll give you momentum and build your confidence over time.
Seek guidance. Don’t be afraid to ask for advice or learn from others who’ve walked a similar path.
Developing these qualities won’t happen overnight, but the effort you invest will pay dividends in both your personal and professional growth.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
Absolutely! I’m always open to partnering or collaborating with like-minded individuals or organizations who share a passion for empowering others and creating positive change.
Whether you’re an educator, coach, entrepreneur, or part of a community-focused organization, I’d love to explore ways we can work together to amplify our impact.
I’m particularly interested in collaborating on:
Workshops and Educational Programs: Partnering to offer live or virtual sessions that provide actionable strategies for personal growth and success.
Content Creation: Collaborating with creators who share similar values to develop resources, courses, or content that inspire and educate.
Community Engagement: Joining forces to host events, outreach initiatives, or programs that directly benefit individuals looking to improve their lives.
