Meet Jarah Alhawamdeh

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jarah Alhawamdeh. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jarah below.

Hi Jarah, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

‏”I get my resilience from my involvement in climbing and sports, which challenge me both physically and mentally. Additionally, setting monthly and yearly goals helps me stay focused and motivated, allowing me to continually grow and overcome .”

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

‏”I am the first Arab and Jordanian climber with a prosthetic limb, having climbed numerous peaks around the world, including the highest peak in Africa and the Everest Base Camp, among many others. I work in supporting and integrating people with disabilities through sports and also provide programs to support refugees and youth through sports. Currently, I am establishing my non-profit organization to achieve the best results in supporting less fortunate communities. Our focus will be on three main areas: sports, peace, and mental health.”

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

‏”The three qualities that were most impactful in my journey are continuous development through reading, scientific and practical research, and sports. My advice for those early in their journey is to look within themselves to find the skill or sport they are passionate about. Read and research it thoroughly, and start taking small steps towards practicing it.”

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

“Yes, I am always looking for partners and collaborators, especially those passionate about sports, disability inclusion, mental health, and community support. I am interested in working with individuals, organizations, and companies that share these values and are eager to make a positive impact. If you are interested in collaborating, please feel free to reach out to me through climbing.with.jarah@gmail.com. Together, we can make a difference and support those in need.”
