We recently connected with Jarrod Cox and have shared our conversation below.

Jarrod , thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?

I’ve always been a creative person growing up. I’d often draw and create things when I was younger. Over the years I became interested in artwork and video making. I started doing funny voice impressions and just filming random videos. I try to keep the creativity going online on social media.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I’m Jarrod Cox from Atlanta, GA. Been here all my life. I’m known for my wacky characters and voice impressions online. I’ve been doing jokes and videos for going on 20 years now. I post probably some of the most random content you’ll see on social media from a talking hand puppet named Melvin to a laughing Witch named Blenda. I love it and enjoy making people laugh. I go by BoogerBoyMeister & LeppieLaddie online on social media.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

I tell people all the time to be creative and just be yourself. People love when you are original and authentic. If you don’t succeed, keep trying. There is an audience out there for everyone. All you have to do is just give it a shot. It won’t happen overnight, but when you reach an audience it’s a very rewarding experience. People love to laugh and enjoy seeing funny stuff online.

If you knew you only had a decade of life left, how would you spend that decade?

I think the biggest challenge most people face now online is getting noticed of their work and content. It’s very hard to get your name out there these days. I tell people often though, just keep at it and you will make an impact. You don’t need a massive following to be successful either.
