Meet Jarron Webster

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jarron Webster a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Jarron, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
Finding my purpose in life wasn’t something I was necessarily searching for. It’s something that has been cultivated and nourished over time. Something that has unfolded more and more as I’ve evolved. Through the many experiences I’ve had, I’ve learned more about myself each time. When you continue to be open to the experiences life provides you with, you eventually start piecing things together from each one. As you build on everything you’re internalizing, piece by piece, you discover a little more about who you really are, and your purpose can be revealed to you. One thing that has been in the center of most of my ventures, is storytelling. Whether I’m writing music, a film, poetry, or a book, I’m extremely well-versed in the art of storytelling. I’m almost certain this is at least part of my purpose. I believe our purpose evolves as we do, and when we’re ready to step into it, it’s revealed to us.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
The most fulfilling and favorite thing I do, is share space with my two sons. They are a huge inspiration in my life and have pulled me through many tough moments by just having unconditional love for me. Connecting deeper with God and sharing light with my kids are most important to me.

I’m from Owensboro, KY and I’ve been doing music for over 20 years. I used to go around town with a Bob Marley backpack that carried a pen, notebook, and cd’s with instrumentals on them. I was always ready to spit some rhymes. I ended up in the Air Force for 8 years and when I got out, I moved my family to Tampa. Getting out of the military was a difficult transition. I somehow lost a job as a Financial Advisor before I even got started, switched gears and killed it in real estate for a few years, published a book, and was doing public speaking. While in real estate, I built a brand around the name “The Tampa Bow Tie Guy”. It began as a tag for people to remember me by and I would wear bow ties everyday to push the brand. The entire time I was going through all of these life experiences, music had taken a backseat due to a failing marriage, not wanting to have a certain image working in real estate, instability, and so many other things.

One day, I was in the movie theatre by myself watching Black Panther. I understood the Legacy that was happening before my eyes with Chadwick being THE Black Panther. I was inspired and I decided to get into acting in that moment. I got my 2nd Bachelor’s degree in Film and Media and fell in love with Directing and Writing. I dropped everything and went all in on acting and film. I’ve produced, written, and directed multiple personal projects with my latest one being a web series called “Love at First Sight”. It’ll be the first project released by my production company, Tampa Bow Tie Guy Studios, which is an olive branch to my original brand.

In March of 2022, I moved to Atlanta and stayed there for a year. It was arguably the most challenging year of my life, but it turned out to be one of the most rewarding. Through that darkness, I began discovering my true voice again, through music. While in Atlanta, I wrote my entire debut solo project called “The Rebellion”. (It’s available on all platforms by the way). The album is representative of my time in Atlanta and is my best work. So far

Today, I’m continuing to discover the depths of my true voice. I’ve been free styling at gigs and having the most amazing time with my art. My album “The Rebellion”, is sure to bring some good vibes to anyone who listens. And when the web series “Love at First Sight” drops, there will be a lot of value brought to the dating world. I just love creating and love connecting with other like-minded creatives.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Courage, Patience, and unwavering belief, (With the willingness to let go).

Unwavering belief is probably the biggest key in any equation. It has been massively impactful on my journey and the more I understand what belief actually is, the more I understand how pivotal it is for embarking upon any journey. If you don’t believe, you don’t have a chance. I added the willing ness to let go, because we hold onto things so tightly. And I feel it drives what we want further away from us. If we put a vision out there, and do the things we know will bring us closer to that vision, we’ll have a lot more fun on the way. Surrender people…

Having courage is essential because you HAVE to be able to look at yourself. When you’re beating your head against a wall, and you keep going in this circle of blaming everything outside of yourself for your circumstance, you’ll need that courage to direct your attention to yourself. Everything begins and ends with you.

Patience has allowed me to see so many things. It has allowed me to be present and in presence, I can apply the courage and really look at myself. My actions, my thoughts, my habits, etc… In doing this, I’m able to make sure I’m tuned into the same frequency harnessed by my desires. It’s all about our energy. And if our energy is impatient and always running, we’ll never be able to catch up to who we really are. Patience makes the journey so much more enjoyable.

If there was one thing I could say to folks on any journey, it would be “SLOW DOWN”.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
One of my favorite books is Outwitting the Devil by Napoleon Hill. He supposedly interviews the Devil in the book and there’s an abundance of nuggets in it. One of the things the Devil says is “The only real sin, is doing something that doesn’t make you happy”. That resonated deeply for me and it makes a lot of sense. Choose happiness.
