Meet JArthur (JayG) Grubbs, III

\

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to JArthur (JayG) Grubbs, III. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

JArthur (JayG), we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
I continue to find my purpose through my life experiences. But the early development of my purpose started when I found myself singing in my church choir. I went on to play drums and later moved to piano. Before I knew it I was writing my own songs and recording them. This fueled a sense of creativity inside of me. I developed the ability to create an idea in my head and use what was in front of me to bring it to life. Now, through my business, I am able to do that for others in various ways. Some of those ways include writing songs, producing videos, creating websites, or executing marketing plans. It all comes back to creativity.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am the owner of Films2Reels Creative Marketing Agency. We help businesses create and distribute high quality video content that drives meaningful and measurable results. We accomplish those results by developing a customized plan consisting of content creation and targeted social media advertising.

What makes us special is our ability to combine the creative side of content creation with the technical aspects of digital marketing. In today’s age of short attention spans, you have to capture your audience in a short amount of time, and there’s no better way to do it than by telling a story. But you have to tell it in a way that is visually appealing and gets the point across quickly.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
One quality that I think really helped me move forward in my journey was being receptive to new information. You have to always be ahead of the changes in your industry. Specifically, I spent a lot of time on SkillShare watching in depth masterclasses on the software and techniques that are being used in the digital marketing space.

Another quality is being personable. People buy from businesses that they know, like, and trust. Building that credibility comes from developing an authentic relationship with potential clients. When I’m meeting new people, I always meet the person first, and only share a solution if (1) they ask what I do, or (2) if the person that I meet has a problem or a gap that I could solve or fill.

Also it’s important to learn about emerging technology. Our tendency as people is to reject change, but we have to embrace it to continue to move forward. There have been a lot of developments in the artificial intelligence space, so I would definitely recommend researching ways to include it in your business.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I believe it is very important to work collaboratively with other businesses. Teamwork really does make the dream work, and it allows both businesses to provide more value to each others clients.

At the moment, the primary group that I am looking to connect with are brand photographers and other marketing agencies.
