Meet Jarvis Parker

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jarvis Parker a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Jarvis, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
I found my purpose through seeing people in need. Since I was in high I realized as long as I lived that people will always need help. Now I’m in a field where I can deliver a high quality service at an affordable rate in the urban community.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
The best part about being a mobile massage therapist is that I can bring 5 star service to the location that brings the client the most joy. For the most part after a massage, bliss is in the air & a euphoric aura is present. I love to make my clients feel complete after a mental vacation on my table. Also, I love to make self care a topic in rooms where that thought never existed previously.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
In this business it is very important to love what you do & spread that through to every client you encounter. Never be afraid to gain new knowledge, learn multiple techniques & create your own routine. Lastly, find joy in servicing people, be better than every bad encounter you’ve had with unfavorable customer service. If you decide to get into this field, never be afraid to try new things with confidence, your hands, body language & actions will always tell on you so take pride in what you do. Leave a good mark.

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
The most impactful thing my parents taught me was to have intrinsic value in hard work. Anything that my name is attached to should be done to best of my abilities. Hopefully this is evident during every encounter
