Meet Jas Hart

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jas Hart. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jas below.

Hi Jas, weโ€™re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?

I really love this question ๐Ÿ’• because this skill was one of the most pivotal ones I have developed (and continue to develop, because I believe that growth is ongoing).

I experienced a lot of criticism and ridicule from my peers during my adolescence. My interests, appearance, disposition, and way of speaking were often the topics of ridicule.

I was (and still am) short ๐Ÿ’…๐Ÿฟ and always had my nose in a book. In elementary school I actually would spend my recess period in the library helping the librarians shelve books, because I found that more entertaining than recess lol ๐Ÿ˜‚. I’ve loved language and books before I was even in kindergarten.

I was (and still am at heart) a joyous, curious eccentric kid. However, I grew up during a time where differences weren’t as celebrated as they are now.

Without really realizing it, I internalized some of the negative perceptions of my peers and it impacted my self esteem in a negative way.

It wasn’t until my 20’s through my faith in God and really taking the time to do some self work that I began the process of unpacking my beliefs about myself.

Pursuing a relationship with God, and reading the Bible allowed me to see what God thought about me. It helped me to see the beauty in all my quirks and uniqueness. As my relationship with God grows, so does my confidence and self esteem.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I am an artist at heart! I love all things dealing with expression whether it be visual art, music, fashion/style etc, but jewelry has always had a special place in my life.

I am focused on my jewelry brand Layered in Truth. I create meaningful handmade pieces that tell stories, and communicate messages.

I absolutely love the work that I do because Layered in Truth is a response to self doubt, low self esteem, hopelessness and all the things that weigh on our minds and hearts keeping us separated from our higher selves and a full life.

This brand was created to elevate, empower, and energize. It’s a healing journey for any of those who dare to take the path less traveled.

I’m really excited for some product launches I have planned for this fall, which will be available on the website in September. I also will be at a local market in Charlotte on Sept. 29th (Autumn Mimosa Market) so I’m looking forward to getting to connect to the community in person!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

In my journey as an entrepreneur, 3 of the most impactful qualities that I have learned so far are

1. Faith – the ability to believe in the dream/vision God gave me โœจ

2. Studiousness – having the ability to be an ongoing learner. ๐Ÿ“š

3. Resilience – the ability to bounce back and keep pushing forward after a set back or mistake. ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿฟโ€โ™€๏ธ

For anyone wanting to know how to improve in these areas prayer, identifying areas you lack knowledge in and using resources to gain education, and refusing to give up on your dreams have been some keys ๐Ÿ”‘that have helped me along the way.

How would you describe your ideal client?

My ideal client is anyone who is seeking Truth. Whether you are ready to start your journey or you are already on one, my ideal client is someone who desires to see change in themselves and wants to impact the world around them in a positive way. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฟ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿฟโœจ
