Meet Jasmin Acevedo

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jasmin Acevedo . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jasmin below.

Jasmin, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
I developed my confidence and self esteem through self discipline, self awareness and accountability. After the birth of my son in 2018, I began to really look at myself as sacred and special. Bringing my child into this world exposed all of my insecurities, my lack of boundaries, my limits, but also my values, beliefs and truths. I started to educate myself more by reading books, listening to audibles, getting around other women I wanted to be like through online coaching programs and really just cutting ties with anything that was holding me down from becoming the best version of myself. With each move I made, I started asking myself if I was honoring my higher self. If the answer was yes, then I continued. I had to hold the vision of a person with high self esteem and confidence in my mind before embodying her. My self esteem came from studying and applying spiritual laws to my everyday life and being of service to those I continue to encounter in my journey.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Hi, I’m Jasmin. I was born and raised in Providence (“The creative capitol”), Rhode Island. I started my professional career in nursing after attending the University of Rhode Island. My passion for wellness education started in childhood. I loved helping people, loved science and loved to read and explore. At 24, I started travel nursing across the US and soon realized many of us are chronically ill due to a stressful and neglectful quality of life. This experience inspired me to get into root cause healing. Some key factors I came across were high stress levels, poor nutrition, lack of exercise and low self esteem. This led me down the path of self love, trauma healing and emotional regulation. To put this all together, I took a life changing 200 hr trauma informed yoga teacher training in 2021. Practicing yoga, the study of higher consciousness, has not only led me back to my self and purpose, but has allowed me to teach hundreds of others to do the same. In 2019, I started a business called Four 2 Five Wellness, after the birth of my son. We offered holistic wellness and mindfulness to those in our community through many healing modalities. We developed our signature womb wellness program + retreat in 2022 and it shifted our entire community!
Today I am an executive leader and master wellness educator at a wellness hub in East Providence RI, called The Heal Room, formally the home of Four 2 Five Wellness. I am now running my own 200hr trauma informed yoga and mindfulness programs certified through the Yoga Alliance and have created a whole new company focused on the practice of higher consciousness and healing through yoga (It’s coming soon, stay tuned!) Professionally, I am focused on providing safe spaces for others to learn new coping skills through the arts and authenticity. The most exciting part of my mission is that I get to embody love and help others do the same!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back, perseverance, discipline and vulnerability have been the most impactful in my journey. Getting clear on your vision, refining it as you go and getting up and doing the thing that sets your heart on fire in your own way has been the key to my success! My advice would be to get around people that inspire you, build your character each and everyday by being disciplined and move with your own values and principals in mind. Become aware of your blind spots, practice emotional regulation and learn to be the observer of your life. I always say, if not this then better! So as long as you are consistent and showing up each and everyday, you will see results. So, just have fun with it!

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
There have so many books that have helped me develop my charter along the way! I would say a current reminder for me would be The Game of Life and How to Play it by Florence Scovel Shinn. it’s timeless!
