Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jasmine Escalante. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jasmine, thank you so much for making time for us. We’ve always admired your ability to take risks and so maybe we can kick things off with a discussion around how you developed your ability to take and bear risk?
Taking risks are not things that are always comfortable; not in the slightest. However, I feel that when I took risks, especially in developing my healing gifts and skills, it was then that my gifts expanded exponentially, as well as the abundance in my business. For example, as a breathwork, reiki, and sound bath facilitator, I began doing breathwork with a free online version that a retreat center offered. I had zero breathwork experience but loved the feeling of tapping into my emotions and expressing them, and I asked the instructor what is this type of breathwork? How did you get into it? Coincidentally, there was a training seminar coming up the next month and I took the leap. I was training amongst people who were reiki masters, cranial sacral energy workers, etc., and I felt intimidated. On the first day of hands-on training, I could hardly speak! But I pushed myself and knew the only way to learn was to go all the way in. Instantly, I started seeing my colleagues having deep, spiritual and moving sessions with me. One colleague went back to a childhood trauma and healed that – thus opening up a part of his lungs that he had not breathed into since childhood. Another colleague felt the tangible presence of her passed-away mother and literally felt her mother holding her. The reward in taking that risk was providing a loving, safe, and nurturing space for them to go so deep in their breathwork session that they had these breakthrough sessions. I have continued this pattern of “taking risks” into training for reiki and sound baths. With sound baths, for example, I had a dream to do them by the beach. And a little over a month after doing my sound bath training, I hosted an event with 25 people that was sold out – on the beach! All it took was giving myself permission, throwing myself in full force, and trusting that everything would work out. And it has! Especially with a good and pure intention of providing everyone with the highest most loving healing possible.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I own a breathwork, reiki, & sound bath therapy company that provides these healing modalities to people of all races, religions, gender, and sexual orientations. I offer private sessions with one-on-one attention and group sessions in a studio. I also provide group sessions for corporate wellness events and private events. Sessions can be customized to only include breathwork and reiki, for example, or a combination of breathwork and sound bath.
What is most exciting and special about this work is hearing the breakthrough stories of clients after the fact. Some come in feeling like they hold so many emotions in and are not used to talking about it, but very quickly open up and allow the emotions/tears to come up during the session. They feel so much lightness, clarity, and peace when they are done – they sometimes do not want to get up! That makes me happy. I love to hear the clarity they have about their own businesses, the forgiveness they find for loved ones, the inspiration they find to finally pursue that one thing they have been dreaming of.
I am also currently completing an ocean healing therapy program that will combine the healing power of these modalities with the ocean. I already had my first, sold-out event of breathwork and sound bath at the beach. The event had 25 people by the ocean waves in Redondo Beach, followed by an optional cold-plunge in the ocean! The sand is grounding, the ocean mist and water are so cleansing, and the sun is incredibly healing. That, along with the services I provide, create a beautiful, memorable experience to share by yourself or with a loved one. I look forward to planning more of these events and bringing people an immersive, well-rounded experience.
Lastly, I also have a YouTube channel where I share stories of my personal spiritual journey and videos to help with spiritual growth. It is a great place where I have been able to encourage others through my experience with plant medicine, meditation, surf therapy, and more. I have connected with people all over the world through this channel and am posting more videos this month.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back on my journey, the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in my journey were getting hands-on experience with qualified trainers, making connections with as many people in the community as possible, and investing in quality instruments for a high-value experience.
With all of my modalities, I researched respected, reputable trainers who I felt could give me the best hands-on training. These trainings lasted at least 3 days to a week long. I feel the longer you can learn from these trainers, ask them questions as possibly, practice, and receive feedback is extremely important to make sure you are providing a quality service. Take the opportunity to learn and absorb as much knowledge as you can. These people have wells of knowledge to share and want to see you succeed. They appreciate people who put the effort it and have the best intentions.
I also appreciate the power of making connections with people everywhere I go. I have met potential clients at the beach. I have met clients at completely random events. But I always act with integrity and passion, and have made connections that have led to unexpected opportunities. For example, I once had a booth at an event and met a gentleman who worked with people who were out of jail/prison to provide holistic healing services for them. I then was able to visit their center in Downtown LA and was amazed at what they offered! This included an on-site barber, kitchen, library, on-site therapist, support groups, and more! From that meeting, I was able to organize a sound bath for their founders and then their clients that they serve. Always treat every person with kindness and respect because you do not know who they are or what they do, and the opportunities that can come from that connection.
Lasty, I have invested in high quality instruments for my sound baths. I researched a lot to find out which sounds I liked and the type of experience I wanted to create for my clients. I wanted it to sound great so that they could feel great. I found local vendors who made what I needed. For example, I got a hand pan, gong, and unique “Euphonic” instrument from a company that hand makes all of their instruments. These are high quality with great sound and resonance. They create a sound that is ethereal, dreamy, relaxing, and calming. I would recommend that anyone starting out their own business do the same and think about, “What is it that you want your clients to feel when they are there? How do you want them to leave? What things do you want them to share with others afterward?” Give them a beautiful, memorable experience that they will always cherish when they look back upon it.

Tell us what your ideal client would be like?
My ideal client is someone who is looking to simply feel better. We all want to feel better. Life can become overwhelming with work, families, trying to eat healthy, trying to work out, trying to make time for your passions, and everything else that people do on a daily basis. Everyone has felt anxiety over their heavy plates, sadness over hardship, and frustration. When we get to this place, we need a way to get out of our heads and into our bodies and simply calming it down. My ideal client is someone who perhaps has a high-stress job or changing jobs, and needs to find time to pour into themselves and calm down their nervous system. My ideal client may also be someone who is beginning a spiritual journey and looking for guidance and encouragement. Spiritual awakenings and journeys can be very heavy sometimes as you shed layers of your old self and old beliefs, and start to create a new reality. You may need an outsider’s perspective to let you know you are on track or areas where you could focus on to bring more clarity/growth. My ideal client s anyone that is looking to step out of their normal, day-to-day routine, which does not usually lead us to growth or progress – and try something new and expansive. Something that will open their minds and their hearts. Something that their soul will say thank you for and that was much needed. All clients leave feeling 10 times better than they came in, with a wave of peace over them and hope for the next steps in their journey.
